  • for a bunch of young guys it's clear you were taught hunting ethics and the way it should be done. OUTSTANDING!!!

  • lol!!! another great video! Thanks for the post!

  • most people gut the deer before they drag it out, takes away about 20 pounds

  • gut ur deer right away dont wait till u hang it up.

  • PETA LOL

  • Fair enough.

  • great video i also hunt in clarion and jefferson and im just ready now after watching this to get out my old smoke stick and see if i can get it done with out the old flinch making me miss.

  • you sir have an amazing rifle

  • Is a Flintlock hard to use? I was thinking of going out with one because I still have my buck tag

  • @HeavyDutyWMD Its all in ones mind. If you understand how to use one they are easy to use. As with anything, practice makes you a better shot.

  • good clean fun and you acquire foot to boot. beautiful property. Got me geeked filmed perfect.

  • Badass gun , I just purchased Kentucky flinklock , can't wait to try it.

  • Wow, I'm surprised that works so well! Saves a hell of a lot of time too, I'm sure!

  • Those are some of the dumbest whitetail I have ever seen. Around here moving around on the ground only 60 yards from deer and they would be of running and that would be the end of it. The trick works great.

  • IF YOUR HUNTING IN PA. YOU NEED FLOURESCENT ORANGE.

  • @LONGBALL3005 Not true. Read you hunting regulations.

  • @LONGBALL3005 Not during flintlock season...maybe make sure you know what you're talking about before you "E-YELL" at someone? A little etiquette goes a long way...even online. :)

  • @rNdDynamikkDuo I DIDN'T "E-YELL", I SIMPLY MADE A COMMENT AND LATER FOUND OUT I WAS WRONG.

  • @LONGBALL3005 Sir/ma'am, it is considered to be the equivalent of yelling when you type in all caps LIKE THIS on any typed communication. Combining your unintentionally conveyed tone and ignorance (and I mean that kindly), you are coming across as a rather brash ignoramus, though I am sure that was not your intention. I would advise doing some research before you call someone out for what you think is illegal activity. Just the view from here.

  • @LONGBALL3005 IF YOURE HUNTING IN PA. YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK.

  • all them young boys you invited to your grandfather's property, and you had him skin that deer? Maybe some coaching or something, but between the whole lot of you? Really? That goes to show you watch hunting shows. You guys watch on TV how to get them, but they don't show what to do after you pull the trigger on the outdoor channel.

  • @livin2bright My grandfather wanted to be on camera skinning it himself. His decision and his way. And no, the assumption that people who watch tv hunting dont know anything is far from the truth.

  • @Leatherwoodoutdoors Fair enough. All the old folks around me get mad if the young folks aren't doing all the work. My appologies.

  • @livin2bright yeah, and thats why they have 129 videos, mostly related to hunting............

  • is it normal to feel bad skining and guting a deer?

  • @MidgetMann4555 how many deer have you gutted?

  • @Leatherwoodoutdoors a couple

  • gross , redneck but very interesting i like you guys.

  • that is a damn good trick. I'll have to try that!

  • Man, nice vid. Lotsa cool stuff like the cabin, Gator, Skinning technique, and them TC Hawken rifles are sooo nice :D

  • i love elder hunters they so much expeirince to show younger people

  • love all your videos bud, muzzleloader hunting is one of the better parts of the year good luck this year keep the videos coming

  • This is my favorite hunting/outdoors channel. I myself am a PA hunter.

  • i was wondering Hunter was using a .45 caliber i thought in PA you had to use a .50 cal of bigger when it came to deer but i might be wrong i love the video and think that law is B.S i have a 54 cal lyman great plains and just bought a traditions Trapper Flintlock pistol and im hoping to kill a doe on film here in early muzzleloader in 2b

  • thats a nice doe. I'm just starting to hunt doe next year because ive gone my first 3 years of hunting without a deer.

  • Nice Skinning technique! I'll try it if i shoot a something this coming 2011 season. I'm a bowhunter but i like muzzleloaders. Great vids!

  • that is one puny deer our average is 200 lbs

  • awesome skinning trick

  • i take my hat off to your grandfather, you can see he,s enjoying himself skinning and gutting that deer ,lots of people today wouldnt have the stomache to do that letalone the brains, long live grandpa!he,s a true human.

  • Good shooting!

  • That was just a joy to watch, thank you Leatherwoodoutdoors for putting together such awesome footage for all of us to enjoy. Keep up the good work.

  • There comin from every where.

  • U made it a day before my bday by the way I have the same knife cuz my uncle works for cutco

  • Nice work fellas. Love your videos. I hope you all realize that you hunt in a whitetail paradise... I'm jealous. I lived in potter county for a year, but am back in ohio now.

  • Awesome man, start to finish. A really good video!!

  • wow, growing up I only thought there was one way to skin and gut a deer, but this is totally different and I went to Ohio this year and it was a totally new different way there too, and I also learned from my friends in VA a few things too. So I guess the saying holds true, there's more than one way to skin a cat, umm deer i mean!!

  • ur paa aint afrade to get dirty is he

  • Nice technique, gotta try this.

  • we do the same thing... only we use a golf ball instead of a rock... and we use a lawn mower... same difference

  • u shot a small ass doe

  • Another great video! Nice work fellas!

  • hey leatherwood, are the interior walls in your paps camp tongue and groove pine or roughcut hemlock? just asking cause I'm building something similar. thanks

  • @zeta517 they are tounge and grove white pine. One of these days I am going to make a video of the cabin and the progression of it being built and also the deer mounts and show the property that I hunt. After the hunting seasons of coarse

  • nice to see vids of traditional flint lock muzzles, the one thing i liked most about this video was how you didnt take a second shot at a different deer, you wanted to see if your shot had placed on the first deer and it paid off, true trait of a REAL hunter, great job guys, from your neighbor up north

  • What kind of dickhole shoots a deer and brings it back to camp without gutting it? Ur a fucking tool

  • @MallardSX2 That wasn't nice. I had the same question but, don't insult someone just because they do things differently. If I had an ATV and the place I was skinning was close, I imagine I would do the same. But, I gut in the feild, that is the way I was taught because we don't have an ATV and carry the deer out, then have a trip home. Guts weight 10 -15 pounds, so that is weight I don't have to haul. And about tools? Yes, I wish I had a Grandfather. Some people are just lucky.

  • @MallardSX2 Apperantly your not familiar with the facts of burtchering an animal. You will not go to a butcher shop and find on one farm animal that was gutted at the farm and hauled to the butcher shop. They ALWAYS leave the guts in because its the absolute best way to keep the meat clean from hair and other things. If you knew anything about how animals are butchered you would not have stated that comment. Deer you can gut in field, but this was to show how to do it like a butcher shop would.

  • @MallardSX2 just because they arent just like you in how they butcher an animal does not mean they are wrong, when its that cold outside it doesnt really matter anyway as long as its done within an hour or two no need to get all cocky and call names, you know you wouldnt do that if you didnt have the internet to hide behind

  • You guys shoot some great videos thanks for sharing! Love the flintlock hunts can't wait for the new one;s to be posted of this seasons flintlock hunts!

  • hey u guys always seem 2 get deer during flintlock so i was wondering what kind of powder you guys use and what kind of ammo, guns, and your technique for being so succesful in the late season?

  • @HUNTandFISHHARD We all use different calibers, makes and models of flintlocks. We also use different powder and ammo. Its not the gun that makes you succesful, its the hunter. We know the properties we hunt very well and we know what the deer are going to do from years of experience

  • @HUNTandFISHHARD if ur gonna use a flintlock i would suggest to STRICTLY use only blackpowder...none of this substitute junk. blackpowder burns at a much lower temp than pyrodex. using pyrodex will cause hangfires and NO ONE WANTS THAT

  • Another awesome video. Gotta love flintlock!

  • Great video! Thanks for posting. What kind of flash powder are you using to get such fast lock time on that flintlock. I have a flinter too but 4 F pyrodex, sharp flint just doesn't act like yours.

  • @357Rossi Don't use the pyrodex. Stick with the tried and true 4f black powder. Also, I do not use the stock port from the flash pan to the chamber. You can pick up a larger port at cabela's. That also makes a difference.

  • caribou in Pennsylvania?

  • @MudDobber247 he didnt get them here if you listen closley he says the deer on this property

  • how big was that buck?

  • Great stuff , I enjoy the memories I had with my grandpa

  • Its nice to see you able to get time with your Grandfather. I'd give a lot to have another hunt with mine. Just curious, was the hunt that Ruby on in a fence? Haha...tons of deer! Gotta love it. Good job guys.

  • once again great video.

  • we use a similar system to skin deer...we have a tripod with a winch. you skin the back legs a little then you hook the bar between the rear tendons and hook the hide you ripped down on the back leg and then you just flip the switch on the winch and away you go. Both ways just as easy.

  • just like my grandpa the old men have all the tricks..lol

  • Another fun video to watch. Great job boys!!!

  • awsome video . can tell your grandfather means bussiness to

  • I love it! Nice job guys. This is my favorite hunting time! But unfortunetly my brother pastaway last night and I am gonna have things to take care of this week. I hope to get out next.
