  • I was feeling self-conscious about my bad pronunciation. I wish I was bilingual, actually, so in no way, shape or form would I denigrate the French language or French-Canadians. Obviously, it came across in a different way than it was intended. And I have no problem having a discussion about it, but people can't expect to call me an idiot and not have me react.

  • Not okay for WhatFC to be rude, but I took exception to the way you spoke in the interview regarding pronounciation of Marie-France`s name. This is Canada after all and she is Canadian, and I think you should do your homework - it wouldn't take much - to get it right and not even talk in the interview about it, period. I'm tired of English Canadians speaking/giggling as if it is normal for them to be struggling with French-CANADIAN names as if French-Canadians are alien or something.

  • Well, sorry you feel that way, WhatFC. I didn't get any complaints from the people I was interviewing and I did ask them the correct pronunciations before I started. I was just confirming with them that I had said the names the way they had instructed me. Here's a suggestion for you. How about you try to phrase your criticism more constructively instead of calling me an idiot. You want to talk about rude? That's what I call rude.

  • I'm the idiot interviewer. Anything else you'd like to know?
