WHAT A HOT MESS! I appreciate good jumps, but her jumps were of poor quality. Beside, jumps alone cannot get you a world medal. I wouldn't want to get into an argument, but I would have been horrified, had she won a medal with this level of basic skills...
She was actually 3rd in the long. Bronze medalist Chen was a distant 4th in the long, in fact had ordinals ranging from 4th to 8th and all 9 judges had her behind Hubert in the long. However because Chen was 2nd in the short and Hubert 5th, Chen got silver overall. Chen was at first 5th in the long behind Chouinard and 4th overall behind Hubert, until Harding changed the ordinals to put Chen 4th in the long which switched her position with Hubert overall.
Oh Vanessa Riley, what have you done? I know you were a low marking judge but did you really need to go that low on poor Letitia? Not a fantastic performance granted but surely enough for a bronze behind Yamaguchi and Chen? I agree with above post - robbed of a medal definitely.
They didn't need the Zamboni after she completed her short program

Ok i understand better. pity for Hubert .. :s
with the OBO system, it would have been enought to get the bronze medal right?
wallllllllllou 2 years ago
Yeah that is right. Under OBO it is Chen who would have finished 4th.

she also violated the zayak rule as she did at the olympics.
