:'( Hey, it's Erick Evans (if anyone remembers) I moved to KY after 3rd grade. But I've been wanting to get back in touch with my old friends. If you remember me please leave a comment!!1 I miss you guys!!!
I am from Gautier and I watched ya'll warm up at the Gulfport Festival while we were unloading. I love this show and band :D! Great guard and drumline. Awesome sound from the winds!
To whoever's in charge of the flags, um, they're kinda made 2 b TOSSED! And COOLER446, is Mr. Gipson still teaching middle school band? Bc if I remember right, u DONT march in middle school. Stuff starts sounding a little different when ur feet are going one way, then another, marks have to be made, and the whole time, ur playing some song as loud as u can without sounding crappy. Middle schoolers play in a band hall, not on a field. So it's pretty funny that ur "directors" r tellin u otherwise
This the head band director and what we have said to the 8th graders that they are more prepared than the 8th graders in the past and yes at times they do sound better than the HS. Especially the trumpets. The size has gone down do in part to the storm, class conflict, and not coming up from the 8th grade because of being burned out. Feel free to come around and introduce yourself to me I am the one with big ears and glasses.
Gipson left last year. we now have Mr. Brown... the BEST director ever... and Mr. Sprinkell from Gulfport... but Caviness is still at the high school... :)
Mr.Gipson retired during the middle of my 6 grade year(2007-2008),geuss he didn't like us lol so now the awesome Mr.brown(<3 u mr.brownie :D) and Mr.Sprinkle are the band directors.
I graduated from Long Beach in 2000 (and ROCKED my band uniform the entire time), and by chance happened to find this video clip. Ya'll sound great (brass is kinda off-key at times, but hey). And everybody's in step. Honestly though, it makes me sad to see how much the band has decreased in size. Jesus. We used to have twice as many people. Not that we were any better, but I just have to wonder, "What happened?!" Probably the 4 or so band directors that have come and gone since I was a freshman.
i am in 8th grade... i am going up to long beach high school next year...our 3 band directors say that our middle school band outplays the entire high school...
