Britain was plummating as an economy as ive said before in almost every way possible due to labour! and losing millions of pounds each day such as energy companies, post, mines etc went to making billions of pounds a year as well as encouraging spening on the stock-market for better investment returns etc.

They dragged the UK kicking and screaming from the abyss of 1979. In 1999 after 17 years of Tory rule, unemployment was 1.7 million, in 2009 it was 2.49 million. In the decade 1990 - 99 GDP rose by an annual 2.2%, 2000 - 9 GDP rose by 1.7%. Source: Office of National Satistics. I would suggest Thatchers' economics were good for all the people of Britain.

With Reagan she also freed 100's of millions from the slavery of Communism. Pinochet, whatever his actions, also freely gave Chile back to democratic government. (History also tells us that the Chilean democratic government asked the military to intervene to stop the Communist overtake of Chile.)

Poverty did not double in the UK, check Treasury figures! History records that the Allende government was bringing about a communist coup detat. The Chilean military were requested, by the democratically elected government, to stop Allende. She also freed Argentina from Galtieri by defeating him!

What about the 1,000s murdered in Eastern europe by the Russians (Hungary in 1956, Czechoslovakia in 1948 and 1968 and East Germany). Allende was democratically elected but not as a Communist dictator like Castro who has executed 10s of thousands like Allende had started to do! Pinochet gave Chile to democracy, unlike Communist dictators!
