yeah, the technical term is "envelope filter" but it's also known as an auto-wah. bootsy adopted it for 2 reasons, first because boosty's platforms boots make it impossible to work a wah wah pedal, with the mutron it's just a click to turn on or off. second is because thet fat-space-funk-bass in the solo @ 2:06 is a sound you can only get from an envelope filter. the O.g. mutron III's from the 70's go for around $400 in fair condition on ebay. mint condition ones can go upwards of $600
