  • That was depressing! Stymie live a long time, he was on Sanford and son!

  • Wheezer was such a cutie, too bad he died so young.

  • I loved this show and there was no curse on the cast. They were real people who lived and died like every person on this earth will do at some point. Many of them died before age 60, however, when you consider medicine is different now than it was then; death before 60 is not as odd.

  • Curse? most of these people lived long and full lives.

  • Wow of course, BUTCH LIVES.

  • These actors are from the old Short Films "Our Gang" from 1934 to 1944, "The Little Rascals" that we grew up with in 1994 was based on that older film. And the majority of the characters are still alive ( Alfalfa's character that we know real name is Bug Hall, he's still active)

  • Alfalfa I'm shocked

  • Sheesh, I felt so bad reading about the plight of those cute little kids that I loved to watch as i grew up. At least they left a small, positive legacy in their time.

  • awww

  • This is a funny "curse." Out of the 30 or so cast members, it only seems to have affected the few you mentioned. Others lived much longer: Ernest Fredric "Ernie" Morrison age 79, Richard "Mickey" Daniels, Jr. 66, Allen "Farina" Hoskins 60, Eugenie “Pineapple” Jackson 80, Jackie Cooper 88, Matthew “Stymie” Beard 56, Eugene “Porky” Lee 71, Darwood “Waldo” Kaye 72. Several are still alive, including Dickie Moore 86, Marianne Edward 80, and Jackie Lynn Taylor 85. People die...get over it.

  • So sad! God, I wish I had never watched that. I had no idea what had happened to all those guys.

  • Mickey (Robert Blake) is NOT dead! makes me wonder how many other lies you told.

  • But they'll all live forever in our hearts....... :-)

  • I am Spanky!

  • Spanky died in Vietnam ;-p

  • @ADAMSIXTIES No he didn't! He lived to a ripe old age, and died of a heart attack in 1993. Look it up on Wikipedia before you recite stupid things like that.

  • yep real sad more so about the dog

  • I beleave Pete was killed by the stage hand whos dog they did not pick to be in the show. That was the rummer for years becuase he quit after he was questioned about it.

  • Not Pete D:

  • dimize?

    It's spelled d-e-m-i-s-e.

  • So many of the comments here contain incorrect information. The 1994 movie "The Little Rascals" was an attempt to recapture the magic of the original "Our Gang" series of movie shorts Hal Roach created in 1922. In 1929 the series went from silent to sound. In 1938 Roach sold the Our Gang concept to MGM which continued the series until 1944. As MGM thus owned the "Our Gang" name when the Roach shorts were sold to TV in the '50s, the Roach shorts were then retitled "The Little Rascals."

  • @horarwgt you answered all my questions, which were the reason i strayed to this depressing video. (i wish i hadnt wandered to here). but anyway, now my confusion has been put to rest. i thought "our gang" kids were just a different ensemble of actors from "the little rascals". the more popular ones (alfalfa, spanky, darla, etc) just came LATER than jackie cooper, chubby, farina, etc.

  • After Pete the pup was poisoned in 1930, he was replaced on film by one of his sons who had the circle on the opposite eye. The second Pete died of old age in 1946.

  • why was brisbane not in the movie

  • they FUCKING KILLED PETEY DAMMIT YOU CRUEL BASTARDS

  • Dickie Jones is still alive. He also did Pinnochio!

  • Butch is alive still and if u ever watched jackass 3d the credits show a film crew member was a rascal I for got his name he wasn't weezer but the other really young quiet one

  • Poor dog :/

  • Thanks Rascals.....Ya'll gave us all a wonderful time watching all of you.I never get tired of watching ya'll.....Too Bad the curse couldn't have been on the one's who took advantage of ya'll.I loved you all !!!!!!!!

  • There all dead they all died! so sad!

  • How did Mickey Daniels die? Liver disease at age 55. Spanky made a last TV appearance during the 80s on Cheers. Butch once appeared on Conan O'Brien and talked about life after Our Gang.

  • How did Mickey Daniels die? Liver disease at age 55.

  • There was a show???? I only thought that there was a movie!

  • Wow thats crazy I got an origanal picture from the show

  • fucking hell!

  • Little error in your video. Tommy Bond who played the dual roles of Tommy and Butch died September 24, 2005. Since this video wasn't uploaded until 2008, you should have known that.

  • E! (before the went to shit), did a great True Hollywood Story on them. They had it on You Tube but it was taking down. I wish E! would do a sister channel that play there much better older shows. I hate what they've become. Kardashians arent sexy, they are just money hungry sluts.

  • Just so you know, Kendall McCormas (Breezy) didn't committ suicide stemming from being a Little Rascal. He got out of showbiz back in the 40's and went on to become a talented electrical engineer working for the department of defense. He was being forced into madatory retirement at the age of 65 and did not want to face life without doing what he liked best and that was engineering. So he took his own life.

  • bucht is the only one that survived

  • dimize??????

  • I'm only 15 but I saw DVDs of this show and I love it! RIP

  • Someone poisoned the dog?

  • I was told that the original alfalfa commited suicide.

  • @carlinj832000 No. He was actually shot and killed by a friend of his over $50.00.

  • Strange how there was so much tragedy almost like the production was cursed or something toooo weird folks but so is life eh?

  • @RFKFANTS67 agreed..agreed...

  • how could such a beautiful show, from people that brought so many laughs and smiles, have the cast members die so tragic?dont make sence, loved steimy, drugs and crime, alfallfa one of my favs, shot and at 31,well they will always b dear to my heart, they will b missed, nobody can shine today from anything of the past

  • The theme song just made it all the more creepy :( aww, poor people.

  • @whatthegleeker Thats the theme song for the show...

  • @aatre05 : i know, i was saying it made the video creepy, because the song sounded happy and all there saying is sad o.o

  • @whatthegleeker - The Our Gang theme, "Good Old Days," was first heard in the 1930 short "Teacher's Pet" and afterward became a recurring anthem in the series, as were a wide array of stock soundtrack score elements created by Leroy Shields and Marvin Hatley. Far from being "creepy", "Good old Days" instantly evokes warm and beloved feelings in the hearts of the millions of fans of Our Gang all over the world. The Hal Roach produced Our Gang films still delight 73 to 89 years after production.

  • awww pete was pisoned i love pete!!1

  • so creepy

  • SAD FACE :(...

  • OH MY GOSH THIS IS SOOO FUCKING CREEPY.

  • Mickey Daniels died of.....what exactly?

  • @MindeFrek - Mickey Daniels died of liver disease on August 20, 1970.

  • This is a lie.

This movie wasnt even made 20 years ago!

No way could someone go from like 6 to 64 in like 20 years!

  • @TheMattForSoccer89 - This video is not referring to the 1994 movie, but rather the original series of short subjects that ran from 1922 to 1944.

  • @TheMattForSoccer89

How old are you that you don't know that the movie was a remake of the original that started in the 1920's? Children should speak only when spoken to.

  • @TheMattForSoccer89 HELLOOOOOOOOOO

  • @TheMattForSoccer89 HEY IDIOT!!! THE LITTLE RASCALS ORIGINAL EPISODES WERE MADE 1920's-1940's. THE 1994 VERSION WAS JUST A DISS AT THE ORIGINAL RASCALS. IT WAS JUST A BIG INSULT!!!

  • OH MY GOD its not a curse they died, they were old wat da fuk!!!!

  • spanky is mickey rooney, for those who dont know

  • That is sooooo sad. I use to watch this show. I liked some of the characters on there.

  • So sad :( What happened to spanky?

  • @destroytheNWO2d Spanky actually still lives in Texas... he worked at wal-mart for a while but he quit and went to college. He's just a stay at home guy:) I love Spanky! He was my favorite:)

  • @HaleyScotty Thanks ;)

  • @destroytheNWO2d - George "Spanky" McFarland died of cardiac arrest on June 30, 1993 at the age of 64.

  • I liked the old little rascals

  • Wow, There was a curse!

  • Tommy butch bond just passed away a few years ago i knew him he lived in Impieral Beach here in San Diego i still have all the goodies he gave me he was a nice guy

  • Well actually Spanky died of heart failure at age 58. Butch died not too long ago of natural causes as well. One of the oldest kids (the truant officer) was killed by a vagrant that he let live on his property while trying to help the guy out not long ago. One of the other kids was killed in his older years by a car that went out of control and jumped the curb. I think for the time and the industry they were from (actors) their deaths were probably about average. ............

  • As for Stymie, before he died, I believe he used to play James Evans' friend Monty on Good Times every now and then.

  • were there 2 versions of little rascles then

  • @actresstobe1408 Yes, there was the original film series (which this video is referring to) that ran from 1922 to 1944, and there was a remake in 1994.

  • not being any bad, not even wishing bad things to come up about, but i sincerely expected, by the end, something like: butch still lives in california

  • @fuzzynuggetman27

Spanky went on to work in various marketing jobs, finding success with the Ford/Philco company and products. He died back in the early to mid 90s at about 64 or 65 years old

  • @fuzzynuggetman27

He became a successful business man. Died in 2005. Content.

  • It should have been mentioned that my favorite, cute little Wheezer, was a WWII Hero (any one who fought was a hero in my book) and died in a military training mission. That makes him a hero. Anyone disagree?

  • Now Micky Gubitosi is still very much alive. You may know him better as Robert Blake the biggest star to come out of the little rascals, next to Jackie Cooper.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sarasdad91

Jackie died the a week before your message. RIP Jackie. Now he can go find his beloved Miss Crabtree

  • @Sarasdad91 .....he came out of something all right.

  • no cubby died at 18. i have the dvd of what they said.

  • @stacyviacomsuckss It seems that no matter how old they lived to the Rascals and kids of "Our gang" will forever be young.

  • Spanky...1993...Butch ..2005....expiration dates

  • We all know what happened to Robert Blake at 1:57 but what amazes me is that Alfalfa (Scotty Becket) died two days after getting his ass kicked and shot in Hollywood over a nasty, stank ass hunting dog.

  • @ekocentric alfalfa was CARL SWITZER not scotty becket and the kid that was there the day alfalfa was killed testified in 2001 that the murder was avoidable and senseless and that HIS STEP FATHER didnt have to kill(alfalfa)

  • @regvision Thank you. You're right about Carl Switzer. I don't know what made me write the Scotty name. But I will admit that the murder was senseless.

Switzers murder was inevitable. I think that it could have been avoided but too but Alfie's killer didn't leave people with the need to send him a valentine.

P.S. Stitz had another talent..he beat and terrorized his step children

  • Damn...even the dog died tragic.

  • hÊy_ãNy_gUýs_wãÑt_tØ_chÄt_with_më

  • Use to watch the Little Rescals on Sunday mornings at 8am.

  • What about Moe Syzlack who played Smelly? what ever happened to him.

  • @sebbrown1

    Ha Ha Ha Ha

He bought a bar in Springfield and invented the Flaming Moe.

    Ha Ha Ha Ha

  • yal will proly think im playn bt seriously my dad saw butch in wal mart and said i hated your character in a playful manner bt butch did wat u woud expekt him to do ... get an attitude nd act like a tuff guy

  • Mary Ann Jackson was the most funny girl!

  • Gordon Eugene Porky Lee passed from cancer a few years ago after a career as a teacher

  • @homemoviescolorado I'm glad to hear that someone lived longer than 40 years....we could say that Mickey (Robert Blake) lived a long time but....did he really?

  • John collum Uhuh is buried in vallhalla cemetery in north Hollywood

  • Jackie Cooper (*the* star of the series between the original silent cast and the arrival of Spanky) is comfortably and actively retired at age 88.

Dorothy "Echo" DeBorba passed away last June at the age of 85.

Jean Darling, love object of the late silent period, is 88 and living in Ireland.

Dickey Moore is 85 lives in Manhattan, and is has married to actress Jane Powell since 1988.

  • @dadoctah I loved Jackie and Ms Crabtree. Did you ever see him with the killer dummy in one of the Twilight Zone episodes?

  • @ekocentric

That episode was called Caesar & Me. The Dummy was in another episode called, well, "The Dummy" and starred Cliff Robertson.

Jackie was in a lot of TV and Movies after that. Sadly, he passed 8 days ago.

  • @haitipi I've gotta tell you that Caesar and the creepy little girl with the stank attitude would scare Charles Manson.

  • dey got K'd and kontinue to get K'd by us W1xxP1 real gang bang

  • On the positive side, Tommy Bond went on to play Jimmy Olsen on the Superman Seriels, Jackie Cooper Went on to play Perry White in the Superman movies, and directed MASH, and Mickey became detective on the 70's show Beretta.

  • i tell u i culd hav live better without watchin dis..damn everybody huh

  • THUMBS UP THIS COMMENT IF YOU THINK BILL COSBY IS RETARDED FOR CLAIMING THE MOVIE AND MAKING A BIG DEAL OUT OF WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS "RACISM"

  • @SuspectIGraff2o3 frrom Richard Pryor about bill cosby: " Tell bill to have a coke and a smile, and shut the fuck up" !

  • @SuspectIGraff2o3 That's an urban myth. Bill Cosby does not, nor has he ever, owned the rights to either the series or the movie.

  • Scotty Beckett died of a drug overdose, probably a suicide. Very sad, self-destructive life.

Mickey Daniels died of cirrhosis of the liver at 55. He was working as a taxi driver.

  • Some more corrections..

Alfalfa died when he was 32, not 31 because of reward money for a dog.

Spanky died of a heart httack in '93, the same year he appeared in a Cheers episode that was titled ""Woody Gets An Election"

Butch died in 2005 from heart disease

  • The only two living are Jackie Cooper and Dickie Moore

  • i love the colored movie(:<3

  • I read in a book awhile back that was talking about the original rascals/our gang members that Alfalfa died from a knife stabbing fiight over money aat age 22.And from what I understand the studios pretty much put a big grip around them and their benefits or moneys any of them may have made and it made it very hard for them to make any money or get jobs anywhere else after the started getting older so for most part once they hit 10 they where too old & was gave the boot. SAD

  • @redwing46901 Hmmm,... it's pretty well known that Alfalfa was shot during a drug deal gone wrong. There was an Alfalfa website supported by his family that had that story too. I remember when it happened, I am old enough (Augggh). But from what I read on the family site, Alfalfa - Carl was a good guy and loads of fun. But he got desperate in 1059 and got mixed up with drugs. I just found a site that says it was over a lost hunting dog. He was doing hunt guiding. Looks like we need Foren

  • why are the shows enemys still alive?? thats mest up

  • IT SOUNDS LIKE TO ME WITH SOME OF THE CHILD ACTORS,INCLUDING THE DOG,WAS PLAIN OLD JEALOUSLY

I HOPE THEY ANSWER FOR IT

  • @Aristotle9000 ...

    @DevilDue ..

This needs no commentary, other than you are Butch, Chubbsy Wubbsy, Stimi, and i forget the other guys name.

    Me is Darla.... Little darling.

  • You forgot Mickey (Robert Blake)! He was cursed too!

  • @ItsMeItsOlive technically his wife was lol

  • @ArthurZ101

    Good point.

  • Chubby died at age 18

  • This presentation is incomplete. What happened?

  • Curse?

    I don't know about a "curse."

The deal is, they lived in a different time, and their "film celebrity" back then didn't insulate them like stars enjoy these days. They lived an utterly real life, and real life back then was harder for everyone. We're frankly spoiled to death these days with better medicine and safer transportation.

And a lot of detail is omitted here to portray the image of "curse". For starters, many of them spoke of having a happy life and joyful memories.

  • ahh .so sad....does anyone know what happened to little "spanky"??I think my film ran out before it gave an answer...

  • @mumof3girls09

Spanky lived a long, relatively happy life making occasional appearances here and there. He was even had a cameo appearance on an episode of Cheers.

You didn't see an answer here because not all the Rascals fit into this person's vision of "a curse" he's trying to sell.

  • @TheJediCharles oh thanks!!..I`m glad to hear "spanky" at least didn`t have a short and relatively sad life away from films..

So ,they say there`s supposed to be a "curse" within these characters??I didn`t know anything about that..biut then i`m in the uk ,and we don`t hear quite so much celeb "gossip" as such...at ;least not with the older stars....(my middle daughter is really into all the older "stars" ,as they really were back then....and i`m sure ,not being so accessible made them more

  • @TheJediCharles fascinating somehow...you know? Not knowing their every move ,whim ,likes & dislikes ,yes ,it definately was a different time ,and in lots of ways better for the fans...

    Thanks again 4 your info!!

  • @mumof3girls09

    Thank you too.

It is of historical interest, but I don't subscribe to "the pattern" depicted here. Look at other actors of that same time. Just two names in a hat, look at what happened to Charley Chase and Thelma Todd. They weren't little rascals or child actors, but they were making movies for Hal Roach at the same time and studio and died in manners that would look "cursed".

The issue is we humans are wired to see patterns, even if they aren't really there, it's perception.

  • @TheJediCharles i agree. i'm in leonard maltin's class at usc and he shows us a lot of hal roach comedy stuff from the '30s both our gang and charley chase. it doesn't seem that out of ordinary for actors at that time to die under accidents, murder, overdose, alcoholism or other controversial circumstances. charley chase, thelma todd, and charley's brother james parrott all died young. hal roach's own wife and son also died young. so did will rogers, jean harlow, and rudolph valentino

  • @icefrappe

    You're in Lenard Maltin's class?

I think I'm going to die... of jealousy. :D

  • @TheJediCharles yeah man it's a 300 people class tho so there isn't a whole lot of direct interaction with him. i love the stuff he shows us tho

  • OMG soo young :(

  • This was too me the greatest time of TV!!!! CH. 11 in NYC!!!!!

  • @jaylynbob So...you remember Sandy Becker, and Wonderama, and Farmer Grey? hahahaha

  • @jaylynbob Sooo...you must remember Sandy Becker...and Wonderama...and Farmer Grey?

  • I feel so bad for the dog :(

  • love how like the only one to survive was the dog..

  • My mom calls our puppy Rascal,hehe..

  • Robert Blake was a rascal, he murdered his wife and got away with it.

  • NO NOT PETEY!!!!!!

  • butch tommybond died in 2005

  • wow tht depressed the hell out of me

  • so sad :(

  • what curse! one still lives! or two :p lol

wow it makes me sick that once happy little rascals lived a life of shit and died

  • is spanky still alive or did he die

  • @rckprincess12 Spanky died in 1993.

  • @rayjr62 ok thx

  • Yes. Robert Blake is still alive.

  • Tommy Boyd ( Butch) passed receintly, Oops, I was corrected he passed in 2005. How time flies.

  • Tommy Boyd ( Butch) passed receintly

  • @industrialsociety

Nobody asked you and nobody cares. lmfao. bye..

  • Robert Blake ( Baretta ) was a Little Rascal. He's alive but doing time for killing his wife.

  • Pete

    i want u in heaven

    but the killer in hell

    Pete my hero

  • BULLSHIT ABOUT STYMIE BEARD. HE WAS AN ACTOR TO THE VERY END APPEARING ON SEVERAL EPISODES OF GOOD TIMES.

  • I think I'm going to cry....

  • spanky died in 1993

  • no butch died in 2005

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but Isn't Spanky now playing the part of Eric Cartman on South Park?

  • Very interesting, although Stymie's last name is Beard. Many of the Gang are still living, although many of them died young, or sort of young. My mom used to go to church with "Farina". She called him "Allen" and I was amazed and star struck about this when I was little. My brush with Little Rascals greatness! Also, Darla sang the "Ask Any Mermaid You Happen To See.....Chicken Of The Sea" commercial. So much talent therew among those kids...and so much tragedy.

  • Isnt Spanky still alive?

  • @Shadeleaves No. He died.

  • @Originalman320 he

    alive

  • @yupyupyup47 I don't know if you're trying to be funny or not. George "Spanky" McFarland died June 30th 1993.

  • I think it is soo sad when u look at those kids and hear wats been done 2 them :(

  • Damn, Darla had a big head!?!

  • actually butch killed em all and made it look like they died of different things. he finally got revenge.

  • @MrRaydioray

    A very compelling argument. lol.

  • Some of these stats are wrong and the written narrative messed up in parts. Chubby died at age 19, not 22. The line on Froggy and Mickey Daniels are convoluted and incomplete. Was the writer on the same drugs the rascals were on? This thing ends not telling us where Spanky is now, though some of us know the story. Which Pete the pup was poisoned?

  • @jeremysteele07

The writer would rebut, hence the rudeness of the enquirer there is no need. Offense can not be taken, considering the source.

    Good day.
