  • @Bobbit323 Honing puts tinny little scratchs on the lining's wall, You do it to help the oil stick. although i would do it like in this video, i would advise putting the block through a wash after its done.

  • If youre gonna hone it do it the proper way

  • did you remember to have the block and headers resurfaced? being supercharged and having an even higher compression ratio than a stock M3 its really important to resurfaced the block especially after such an event.

  • It was petrol.. but the guys who did that didn't know their arses from their elbows and ended up totally killing my engine :(

  • @breakbeatzboy did the honing itsself wreck the engine?

  • What is the grit size of the flex-hone? Is it a silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive type? Thanks

  • The car us supercharged and I had a detonation event after some dodgy fuel which cost me 3 of 6 pistons..

So I replaced all 6 pistons just to be sure.... new set of OE rings and ceramic coated the new pistons to handle the heat better.

Otherwise the block is still stock

  • Hey so what did you realy change on this block?rings, sleeves,Bearings that is.???and you did a De glazing &honing?did you go standard rings? or higher performance?

  • It removes glaze from the cylinder walls and gives them a cross-hatched pattern which assists the oil in adhering to the walls, thus lubricating the cylinders

  • @breakbeatzboy I thought it was for when you get new piston rings so they seat properly? XD

  • what does this do exactly?
