  • now this is true some places are just don't want diffrent people in there places

  • One of country music's outlaws who we have lost, we miss you Paycheck. You were part of country music's defining era. You are listening to one of the greatest ladies and gentlemen.

  • truely one of the best

  • amen to that ! I will take a little country church over a big one on tv anyday! Its whats in the heart that counts not in checking account.

  • johnny is a damn good entertainer

  • Unfortunately, I have seen this happen many times. I wonder what the "Lord" thinks about this type of behavior in "His" houses.

  • That because he didn't worship money like most of everyone theses days

  • absolutely AMAZING song! and so true of how some churches really are.

  • I saw plenty of these types of churches when I lived in MI. I am a preacher myself and I am really taken back by this type of religious practices. I really love this song. I can listen to it over and over.

  • I saw plenty of these types of churches when I lived in MI. I am a preacher myself and I am really taken back by this type of religious practices.

  • @SuperChuckgreen

At least Johnny Paycheck got this one right, there are some church goer think that they are bless simply because they have it made as far as money is concerned.

  • this explains churches now days, you have meet every rule they have, weather it's cloths, hair, shoes,or even money. and it is ashame because Jesus never not one time cared for those things he looked at the heart, and thats what churches need is to think of the heart. Not what they have and don't have. I thought church was for the lost and dying but now days it's for those who are wining and dining in riches and fancy cloths.

  • @12271sarah Isn't it SO sad???

  • MY FAVORITE J.P. SONG

  • MARANATHA!!

  • i love this song

  • @bonacman did he spend all his money on booz or what ? How could he die broke ?

  • i remember the last time i seen the old violin in concert it was in decatur alabama in 1998 he was in such bad shape from years of smoking he had to sit down to do the show and couldnt finish cause he had to be given oxygen it hurt to see such a fine singer hurt this way

  • jonny paycheck was born penniless. had some money... then made a few mistakes cause he drank. then died penniless

  • Johnny Paycheck shppuld be in Country Hall of Fame, but he's not this man is a genius.

  • What an absolutely CLEAR EYED VIEW of organized religion ! ! !

  • he not forgotten. he still in my heart.

  • the difference between religion & spiritualalety is religious people are afraid to go to hell . spiritualalety is for those of us that have been there...& dont want to go back !

  • the truth . the world gone nuts this song tells all i love this song

  • This is RedBlazer500---I'll be seeing you lord-------I Hope!!

  • Rest in Peace Johnny, you are missed.

  • how many biblical people had lon hair in the pictures we see

  • obama sux haha i love this song just wanted to say something ignorant as hell and had no relevance to this great song

  • @nocoast87 That is not ignorance, its factual.

  • Does anyone know what year this was!!

  • @Redblazer500 This Song was Done In 1972 I Believe

  • @Redblazer500 Sometime after Take this job and shave it was out. Check Wikipedia

  • totally true!! god would not turn anyone away from his place of worship!!! n johnny just said it all amen to that!!!

  • @mamajj7769

It is too bad that some church goer have decided to judge you based on how you look and how much money that you make instead of what is inside of you.

For example, if you have a good heart and yet you are homeless because of you got laid off from your job and can't paid the mortage or rent, you are likely to kick out from some church because they rather judge you on how many money that you have in the bank.

  • @Mrbrianjohnson951 This is very sad. I wonder if a church such as this uses or knows anything about the BIBLE. My BIBLE says "Judge not lest ye be judged". I also wonder how many people show up at a church/place of worship weekly and still lose out on the glory of GOD and HEAVEN, and wind up in the Devil's Hell.

  • awesome perspective on the hypocrisy of the church

  • reat in pease old friend

  • Amen!!!! A++

  • johnny your right theres a house for you no matter what anyone says , our god is all around us and hes blessed with this song ,

  • sadly theres a lot of churches out there like this. one day when i decide to wake up and give me life back to Jesus where it belongs ill find a church and write them a check for my tithes and go back home. or find me a little country church like my mom and dad go to. but it is sad that people are more worried about your "appearance" than worshipping the lord

  • Mi church is my house, where I can talk to god and Jesus same to Virgin Mary...thats my real church...

  • the 2 people who dislike this, go to that church he was talking about..

  • NICELY PUT PAYCHECK

  • I feel very blessed to have my church my wife has worn ripped jeans and a tee shirt before and no one cares. We welcome anybody.

  • @DMullins55 - Those are the kinds of churches that we like. Where is your church

  • i think its pretty sad you get kicked out of church for wearing jeans cowboy hat and have long hair jesus always said come as you are i dont care what you look like

  • I LOVE THAT SONG AND PAYCHECK REALLY SINGS IT WITH A LOT OF FEELING.

  • I agree there is ALOT of truth to this song!

  • dont sound like my church at all anyone is welcom no matter what we go after football practice in are clothes we were wearin for practice and greasy as all get out stright from work but didnt matter at all cause were all there for one reason to praise god

  • @mrskoalcan aman i agree with you

  • to tell the truth this sounds like a babtist church they are all into looks and not harts

  • @TheHondaman17I feel sad for you if you think all Baptist churches are like this.

you are welcome to come to our church Willowbrook Baptist Church in Lake City, Tennessee. Our average crowd on Sunday morning is 54 people. We are about Jesus Christ and people.Everyone is welcome. God Bless

  • @TheHondaman17 i dont mean to put down the baptist church i go to church every sunday it just seams like every baptist church i went to they looked down on me because i was wearing shoets a t-shirt and speeking in toungs pleae dont feel like im putting the baptist church down i have jut nuver had a good experiance with them thats all

  • This sounds like the church that i used to go to. I wanted to join the choir and they told me that the only way that i could was if i quit wearing jeans, started wearing skirts and dresses, quit cutting my hair, and they had to see more action up on the alter. I didn't agree with that so i completely quit going.

  • i wear boots and jeans and always will got kicked out of a church cause i didnt have on dress pants love this song

  • Paycheck's right! What an incredible song.

  • i met johnny in toronto in 1978. he`s one of country musics finest singer song writers ever to live.the origanal outlaw. he actualy lived this song. but if he liked you he never forgot you. i loved the man and his music. he played my guitar while i sang his songs and made me feel proud to be his freind. i suer miss you johnny. r.i.p. your freind ronny layne.

  • Shit sounds like a kid's keyboard demo song...I can just see a fat retarded girl rocking back and forth with the keyboard in her lap and smacking herself in the face and saying "Does that hurt sweetheart? She wants candy You can't have any Did that hurt? She wants fucken HOT WATER Joey get her hot water"

  • That's religion today in a nutshell. At least from what I've seen. A Sunday fashion and status show.

  • @ragnarbloodaxe1 I would have to agree...I"m an ole biker chick, don't look good in a dress, but have a big heart. I'll just stick to the Lord that loves me, and leave the rest alone, they don't matter anyway

  • old southern country....sure do miss it in todays pop country society

  • what a lovely song tells the truth i had bad experience of church felt like

you did not fit but i think the good lord knows whats in a mans heart

    not the outward appearance

god bless u jhonny country music lover

  • When I met him in Nashville down on 4th ave he told me that this really happened to him! Its sad that he died broke in Trivecia nursing home in Nashville, but at least George Jones, Allan Jackson, Marty Stuart payed for his funeral!

  • thats what i heard also my friend george and marty

and friends laid him to rest with nothing he was bad in his day but we all where

he does deserve forgiveness if he dont get it then no hope for none of us

  • WOW, i really liked that, my dad showed it to me. he said he haddent heard that song since he was 8, hes 50 now, and im 19 and i liked it

  • AWESOME!!!! What the Hxxx happened to country music?

  • There sure is alot of truth to this song. RIP Johnny!!

  • Good day. Please, can you send to my mail anpouch@seznam.cz Johnny PayCheck's (mp3) song The lovin' machine? I love this song, but I didn't found, where I can get/buy this song. If you want to send some song from me, type something. Thank you very much. František Dobrota

  • I do not ware a suit and tie to my church but I do take off my baseball hat which I ware everywhere expect the church. Now I do not ware dress shoes but just tennis shoes. Now my church even has woman with pants on but shorts are still a no-no. I see a lot more skin now from the woman. In my mom's day she was not allowed to ware her wedding ring. In my grandmothers day you could not dye your hair or drink coke. Do we ware these sexy cloths to get attention just maybe respect is better?

  • @brotherjon100 maybe "wear"?

  • alot of truth in this song. its so sad that we have come to this.

  • It seems to me more people have ishues with going to church then those who don't ,

Weather it's one thing or another ! Maybe we should worship the lord home ! And not be judged, I remember working in church and the pastor told me if I'm ever late

That he will fire me , that's fine I quit!

  • there is nothing better than this.

  • This sounds like my church....although they are slowly startin' to come around, a bit.

  • this song makes alot of sense

  • God bless Johnny Paycheck and Donny Young .

  • Singers and song writers like this are so few these days. Thanks for the video.

  • This is so beautiful!

  • Johnny paycheck is one of county's true outlaws- one of the best anyone who does not accept that fact is not a true country fan

  • This song explains a church I was a member of for years! A real bunch of hypocrites. It took three years after I left for God to ever get me to give another church a chance. It really hits home and tells us all how our actions affect others! Thank you Johnny for recording such a great and truthful song!

  • This song describes my feelings and thoughts of my past life before I found a church and many Godly and Spiritual people filled with the Holy Spirit who accepted me the way I was. Long hair, Blue jeans, T-shirt and sneakers and no car or money. That is where I met Jesus and became a Christian. I now belong to a non-denominational little church without any frills or stained glass windows. Just a love for God and people no matter what they look like or where they came from.

  • well then you dont know what real country is

  • AMEN

  • Love this song so much! Open your eyes people!

  • I think this is one of Johnny Paycheck's best songs. All the others are great but, this one really touch's the heart. Thanks for the post.

  • I love this song! Thanks for sharing!

  • Great Tune.

  • @zeemba123 Spoke like a true bottomfeeding piece of garbage.

  • A truthful great song.

  • The rebel part of my soul really liked Johnny Paycheck and I still do. When I watched the video called "The Outlaw's Prayer" tonight, I felt very sad. It seemed like Johnny was looking for the Lord in a personal way and got shunned by some of the so-called "God's Own People". Whether they were or not we'll never know but my point is that it must have had a profound and sad effect on Johnny himself. I too, HATE ALL RELIGION, just as God Himself (Jesus) does but SALVATION is a different story!

  • This is why I shun organized religion, it's phony full of hate and wacko morons.

  • I am one of these "Wacko Morons" you speak of and all are welcome in are church no matter their dress or look, I have beard and so does my son...

We are welcome there and so are you.

  • This sounds like a church i used to go to. one day, my mom wore her hospital clothes to work(when she worked in one), and one of the ladies who financed the church, iguess she was part of a group called the three sisters, and she walked up to my mom and said, " Don't you have any NICE clothes to wear to church?" my mom replied, "Yeah, but i thought god didn't care what you wore, as long as you came to church." I wasn't there, i only heard it when mom told me, but after, we stopped going, mostly.

  • @vampirefirewolf

Henry David Thoreau said to be weary of any organization that requires you to wear new clothing.

  • I agree. Thanks. I am wary of that stuff, and the church we go to now is a really nice one, but it's centered on god, not money.

by the way, who is Henry David Thoreau?

  • Hopefully its not even whether you go to church... Its where your heart is?

  • @vampirefirewolf Yessir, give me a small unassuming country church anyday.

  • AWESOME!!!! What the heck happened to country music? I guess it's slowly dying off like the legends!!!

  • @vampirefirewolf The same thing happened to my family. We missed about 2 Sundays and we walked in and as we walked by the greeter we heard her say "See ya next year". We never wen't back again.

  • @vampirefirewolf SO many people like this, no wonder so many don't go. It's sad, thanks for commenting, a great song/story! RIP Paycheck, wish music today was this great!

  • @vampirefirewolf Good for her, and you! It sounds like that church was full of phonies. Isn't a church supposed to be a hospital for sinners?

  • Theres A Lot Or Truth In This Song .

  • amen buddy

  • @scd574 Is that song true? I think I heard him say it was true.

It happend to him and i know what church it was.

  • @theddavis44 As Far ASs I Know Its A True Story.

  • @theddavis44 As Far As I Know! Yeah.

  • @scd574 TO MUCH TRUTH IN THAT SONG

  • Yes the lord will accept you Johnny.

  • He already has,rip paycheck,& ty Lord 4 letting us hear him...

  • This song tells me we are deaf / blind or something the monies we give to the church have we ever witnessed where it is going? they tell us too have faith in god yay but keep your money in your pocket....

You are better off giving the money yourself not to pastor to pass on...

  • I miss ya everyday brother but I'll meet ya on the other side, I Hope!

  • I saw the same thing happen to a homeless man at the First Baptist Church in North Augusta SC about 6 months ago. I left soon after. Never been back.

  • But the Deacon I was with a woman other than his wife wasn t. LOL He had more money. Lennon was right.Danny 007122, I worked for a big Baptist Church in Augusta just across the bridge. I know full well what you re talking about. Religion is all about the money and politics now. So sad. No money, don t come. Against the Church members politics. Don t come. I was called into the Pastor s office and chastised for being seen leaving Joe s Underground. Oh My God. A Bar.

  • for some reason when this text when through it was slightly backwards. MMMMM the Lord s doing? I don t think so

  • W0W

  • FUCK OBAMA!

  • PEOPLE might not want to hear it,but Johnny PAYCHECK told the truth to those Cadillac CHRISTIANS.I'll be seeing you LORD "I HOPE."

  • Lets set religion aside for a moment.....Johnny was a good friend of mine and i spent many a night in another wild but lonely motel room on the road with him.....If he trusted you it was anything you wanted, which i never did because i always believed in privacy.....

but johnny did alot of "call outs" at shows and i found myself in his limo many times......if he liked you--the sky was the limit.....but now i am even getting old and so many of the greats are gone and Johnny ? A pleasure to know

  • I don't think god cares what we call him or even if we call...I love my kids no matter what they do or think or experience and nothing they can do will take my love away...even if they don't love me. Now, is gods love less than mine...If it is...then he's not my god.

  • Denniseggers, God will love you reguardless. I think Gods love is more than you will ever know. I am not a very religious man, but I do fear my God.

  • fear or love?

  • I'm sorry Dinnise, but I feel sory for you. God is the reason that you have love in your heart.

  • yes sir I beleive the same.

  • This one stops you dead in your tracks. I am not trying to pass judgement, but buddy, Paycheck LIVED this song. Remember, Jesus is the only way to Heaven

    God Bless

  • You got that right Big.

  • I thank God that he is not as predjudice as some people are. We may not all be welcomed where we want to go here on earth, but God will not deny us because of our looks or money.

  • i love this song i think we all need to become more humble in Christ name

  • this is johnny at his best. love the song and video. r.i.p.

  • Thank you Toonful for sending this. I love it. Christ is a reality for many of us who are not of a religon.

  • to bad country today isnt like the way it was then where it actually means something not this pop shit they play taday

  • you are so right the stuff they play IS not country music i grew up on or play in my bands play on johnny RIP

  • andyrooney11. What? Paycheck lived on the breadline for years man, he was singing from a life experience. He made it from nothin' to record albums, never forgot his roots or the hypocrisy n' bullshit he faced along the way. Never did end up that rich either. you are innacurate in your assumtions. Sing it Johnny, true outlaw n' workin class hero.

  • This song is a great song and a fine example of how hypocritical and idiotic people can be.

  • Preach on brother!

  • I visit you often Johnny... we miss you... Seriously...

  • this was truly a song from the heart this is from the era when country music was trulf country r.i.p. old violin you are truly missed

  • You know, Lord, I'm not perfect; some even call me no count.

But I'll tell you: I believe a man is judged by what's in his heart, not what's in his bank account.

So if this is what religion is: a big car, a suit an' a tie,

Then I might as well forget it Lord, 'cause I can't qualify.

    That's my favorite line. :)

  • glad i found this the other day,i just cant seem to get enough. listen to this almost once a day . sounds like red sovine.wish there was more singers like these 2TODAY RIP JOHNNY

  • Cheif, I must agree, he was one of the best.

  • only johnny could tell it like it is.

  • he inspired me to sing.check out gypwin

  • Thanks so much for sharing !

  • he was a trye legend

  • Paycheck tells it like it is. This is as true today as it was 20 yrs ago. Churches and politics go hand in hand...its a damn shame

  • there's only one church that ive discovered that don't cotton to politics if you ever find yourself around a "cowboy church" go on in and check it out i can almost promise you you'll be back i dont know your beliefs or otherwise and dont mean to offend you but i thought id send this along to u

  • I agee with you. there is a cowboy church in a small town in texas we used to go to. I loved it. We've moved to oregon now, I don't know if there is a cowboy church up here, probably not.

  • I'm an Episcopal flavor of Christian. Catholic Lite, The Episcopal Church, N. 1. A group of agnostics that like to have wine and little wafers at their Sunday meeting. 2. The frozen chosen. 3 Where three Episcopalians are gathered together you will find a fifth also (not really anymore-now it's mostly overpriced spoiled red stuff).

  • I am a Christian....and sad enough there is a lot of truth to this song. I am a good ol boy full of Dixie pride and Faith in God. I love this song. It will really make one stop and think. Good work mr paycheck. God bless you. We miss you johnny and those like you

  • Ah that's telling 'em -The Beautiful People - ?

  • the first time i heard this song i cried it had so much truth and feelings ty

  • If people would actually pay attention to this song they'd be a lot of the churches with a lot more people with a lot more heart.

  • SO TRUE !

  • wow this is the first time i have heard this and this is awesome

  • This Happin to me a
