  • war is kind, kind to those who place value upon power and money, those who manufacture the machinery of war.

War causes division, division allows for an absence of equanimity, with out equanimity there is no room for compassion.

Love is the real nuclear bomb a bomb to end all wars !

  • Wow...intense song. It's as beautiful as it's sad.

Gotta laugh at the boneheads that take the title literally!

  • War is kind... Is this some kind of sick sarcastic joke? wtf...

  • @TheManInBlack2003 The song is most likely based off from stephen crane' s war is kind the song as well as the poem satirize's war making fun of it, showing the horrors of it such as losing loved ones and being away from your family as a solider the song singing about how great war is satire in itself, I mean the way you reacted pretty much sums it up if someone was saying war is kind and how awesome it is. :P and yes I is nerd :D i like taking apart songs and poems to find its meaning.

  • not another Literal translation....

  • wow. Another Literal translation of the words. that captures the meaning completely.

  • @travisdales "and with the final shot he won the war, after losing every battle...."

    Idiot wind my friend?

  • and who is the boy @ :30?......is he dead now? prob someone's dear friend who served our country but got killed in the process?

  • wow..awesome pics..esp the dude @ 1:34

  • @ludvan64

There are few people who go and pick up The Wallflower's album because he's Dylan's son. What kind of bullshit is that. And just because you do not enjoy the music doesn't mean they don't. Most people don't even realize he's Dylan's son until they've already grown to love Jakob's music. I'm sure there are a few bands I find crap that you spend your hard earned (or stolen) cash on. And thing is Jakob hasn't dissapeared, even after nearly 2 decades. So go blow yourself ass

  • @gayfarmerboy Your very rude. So I was not surprised to find your an American. I have not bought a record or CD in years. Only a fool would not realize he is Bod Zimmerman's son. So as far as stealing goes his father stole the name from a great Welsh poet probably to hide the fact that he is Jewish, Something his son probably knows nothing about. So who's the thief?

  • @ludvan64 Dylan didn't stole the name...wtf

it's a known fact that he used the name of Thomas (if I'm not mistaken) Dylan...

his son would have to be completely stupid to not know his "real" first name.

Not wanting to start a fight. Just saying.

  • @ludvan64 u r a dick

  • Splendid song...swell and haunting. Profound.

  • awesome!!!

  • wow

  • Well done..

  • Seeing Things is probably the most universally underrated albums ever.

  • @alehandro a very good point brother. I wasn't thinking of that side when I wrote that, but I do agree with you, one should absolutely be able to voice their suffering. If that's how they feel they should honor their fallen.

  • people shouldn't speak, sing or write about war unless they've been in one

  • @travisdales preposterous the notion. war touches more than just those who fight in it. when a soldier suffers, his entire family suffers with him. Even his friends will suffer with him. Can they not write about their suffering?

  • @travisdales

Define war. There are some mental and personal wars that are and always will be far more devestating than physical war between two states. I'd considered a severe drug addiction a daily war; a daily grind.Try living a few years through that and see if you're not as changed as a soldier coming home from war. There are difference, of course, but you get what I'm getting at? War is war, and war is hell.Thing is you can lose every battle, yet still win the war. Always hope to come home

  • "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

Having been one of those rough men I think Orwell Violence is the trumph of good over evil where would we be if not for rough men when it came to ending Slavery,Nazism,Fascism,Communism, now with pirates on the high seas, would be taking ships of all nations at will and terrorists would be setting up camp on our shores if not for rough men.

  • @dylandogfirebird1 - wake up just alittle - slavery is not ended in your country ,nor is Nazism and all Communism is (when not kidnapped by dictators) is teamwork applied to life ,kind of like a football team everyone works for the common cause while dealing with the egos of thoise who feel they are of more value than others.GWB's 1st term(fraudulent) was proof that the your Civil War is ongoing - only slightly less than 1/2 voted for GWB,Haliburton,&unwarranted invasion of a foreign state(OIL)

  • @eblunot

Yet this country is so beyond great that even with all that going on, I can wake up in the morning, without the sound of gunfire (for the most part of course, as with anything there are extremes and exceptions) and bombs. I can walk down the street and encounter every language/race the world has to offer living in relative peace. There will always be haters, racists, murderers, thieves, nazi's, so what? Doesn't effect the way I live, and I won't mind any of it until it does.

  • i quite like this :)

  • The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree..

  • peace.

  • you want to understand it more clearly a dylon wrote it right however not dylon but bob..ie masters of war

  • @mrchuckles. I am young yes, But I live in a world where more information is available to me than when you were growing up. My generation know now that it is not freedom that is being protected, it is merely assets. Interests in oil, gold and cheap labour. Where I'm from (Scotland) it is only the idiots that join the army. These guys had the opportunity to try and understand the world order. Instead, they joined the war, they took the pay cheques.

  • @radaresalaam. i agree with your rant! but i dont think that the "guys joined the war for the paycheck". the army pay is an insult! these guys on the front line earn 16,000 a year, top line! in my view these people that keep us safe with their good intentions should be on alot more then they get! the problem aint with the front line but more the generals and the governments that give out the orders but benefit from the problems that they pay soldiers vertually nothing to deal with.

  • "Thou Shalt NOT Kill"...correct?

  • Beautiful, like father like son.

Shouts out to THE Man BOB Dylan!!!

  • Those are MY eyes, keep 'em raised.

    ooh wow.

  • @cadyscofe yea man

  • Wow..............sad, the measure of a musician is his song's, what I've heard so far puts him right up with his father, Springsteen like in his ability to paint a picture in words and music.

  • lol your such an idiot this song wasn't anti war it is glorifying its heroism. you have pictures of bush and cheny. lol you are sooo dumb when a country is at war it is the worst time to question the merrit of its leadership.

  • No, he's not a marine.

And this is not the original video..

  • marine and fight should never be in the same sentence

  • please elaborate on that. you caught me at a loss with that one.

  • i will give you a hint ........vietnamese farmers

  • ok, why do you feel the need to say that. you shouldn't harbor any bitterness about that, you weren't born yet, i will be the first one to admit it, people do horrible things, but even when some marines did horrible things to innocent Vietnamese civilians there were many who stood up and said it was wrong if you want names ill give you three off the top of my head. pvt. John Sims, SGT. Harold Banaker, and SGT. Henry Ward.

  • I am surprised at your cutting and angry generalization about people who FIGHT and die to protect the freedom of others. I pity your inability to forgive and am set aback by your anger.
