Firstly, 3 months is completely normal turnaround for an album... and you paid only 3grand, that's a very cheap photographer... As for the other details, you should have checked out who his backup shooter was before hand. Get over yourself idiot!
If you feel that you have been wronged, by all means go legal, that is the reason contracts are done, however, it is my humble opinion that you may be upset not for breach of contract, for you would have gone legal, but you perhaps because he did not give in to a demand from you which he may have considered unreasonable for the industry, and as a result you have gone on record and slandered him, which puts you in a very dangerous legal position.

I can personally vouch that Mr. Cuba is a highly competent photographer who's work is very good and who has documented some very big and lavish weddings in Miami. I am one of his competitors, and one who is bold enough to put his real screen name which can link you to my page.
The Copyright issues could be the issue - you are correct. However most of the bad photographers are the shoot and burn types so if that was case it would be a moot point. Still, this could be considered slander as there is no proof. I still say there is much more to this story then what is on the video. It's' too easy to slam someone without proof
Hmm, something doesn't seem right. Yes it;s wrongthat he forgot appointments - totally unprofessional. However, you have shown us no photographs and yet you are saying how bad they were - why did you not show us any? Sometimes what the couple says they want and how they think it's created is 2 different things, $3000 is not a lot to spend on quality wedding photography bythe way. There is a lot more to this story then you are telling us. Slamming someone without showing any proof is wrong.
I'm so sorry this happened to you.I am a photographer,I do state in my contract everything a bride and groom can expect and make sure it's clear .he sounds very unprofessional and sending another photog without your knowledge or not having it stated in the contract is bullshit.he obviously doesn't know how to be a good wedding photographer nor did the other sent photographer.I'm sorry again for your awful expirience.
thank you ashleysmom517. i appreciate that. i had such a horrible experience with this guy that it bothers me to even show my album to people. not only did he pull this crap but he also was impossible to get a hold of after the wedding and when he found this video he harassed me and made a threatening phone call. all the more reason for people to be warned about him.

There was nothing in the contract about another photographer taking over if he couldn't make it. I wish it was in the contract so that I would have been prepared for something like that. But it wasn't there.

As a bride I had so much stuff going on and so much to worry about that I assumed my vendors would take care of everything. A lesson learned the hard way for me. But this is my way of giving other brides a heads up. If it says in the contract that another photographer will take over in the event yours can't be there find out who that is and see their work as well. Unfortunately I was never given that opportunity.
There are many unscrupulous hobbyists who represent themselves as wedding photographers these days, when all they really want is a fast buck to buy more equipment. This Cuba fellow doesn't even have a website, which is standard these days for any wedding professional. For all you know, he could have shown you someone else's work. And like I said, be careful posting this type of thing. He can sue you for making slanderous comments.

yeah good point. but i actually did go to his home/studio. he has lots of portraits and portfolios. he's a good photographer. thats why i hired him. but unfortunately he didn't take my wedding photos.

It sounds as if you didn't do your homework. Always check websites, references, and ask to see an entire wedding. And READ YOUR CONTRACT.

I did read my contract. It simply stated the date of the wedding, the price of the package chosen and what the package included. There was nothing in the contract about another photographer taking over if he couldn't make it. I wish it was in the contract so that I would have been prepared for something like that.
