mine only had one baby :S i think its coz i had little water the day before it had it (( didnt know it was pregnant)) they had about 1/4 of a bottle just before i went to sleep when i woke up i saw they had no water and when i was feeling it i saw the new born ! i think the mom eat all the others :< i can see bit of blood but it might be from the birth . im just not sure i had them for 2 weeks now and i didnt know it was having a baby that soon :S
@Missblondy11 You can't really tell until she is a few days from having them. By then she will get bigger. If she was mated then she is most likely pregnant.
@Missblondy11 She will be big in the tummy area on both sides. She might need to eat boiled egg, cheese or bread soaked in milk for extra protein if she is pregnant. That is what I usually fed mine.
@KingStivan My hamster's bedding was usually stained with birth blood as well. Hamsters give birth anywhere from 19-24 days. Though mine was usually in about 21 days :)
@ladygodivachocolates the only baby she had is dead QQ she didnt sleep on him and didnt feed him that much i had to take out the running wheel so she stop and feed him but i couldnt put him under her ((didnt want to touch it )) so he was wondering around tell the next day he was dead QQ RIP .
I don't think we're suppose to touch the baby hamsters @ this stage right? Just wondering because my mom always told me not to because the female will disown the newborn or either she will eat it...and I never tried
i have 1 dwarf hamster we got mine from petco and named her botta i also have a regular crem clored one named jitter bug i love them and there cages are seperated so the dwarfs safe XXD

I'm glad you found him. Sometimes the balls open when the hamster bangs against the wall going high speed. That has happened to me and thankfully I found them in time. I just put a few strips of tape on the lid to secure it in place.
I read you can keep dwarf males with the females when they have babies and that the males will help with the birth. I'm way to over protective so I always took out the daddy.

aw theyre adorable i had 2 dwarfs before nikki and athena nikki had 3 litters of pups and then died one day with athena before she could have her 4th litter by the way none of the pups lived then i got meena and adrian soon adrian died because of teeth growth,meena survived so we got rin and about a month later she gave birth to 2 pups 1 died on the third day soon rin ignored the other one and it died the fifth day i hope she will have more and they will hopefully live.
