  • Oh my god, Rory O'Malley, stop being so flawless before I explode.

  • Andrew Rannells looks flawless, like he has been permantly airbrushed! He is so pretty!

  • that one guy has his own youtube series.. learn speak to english or something xD.. so happy for everyone involved in this GREAT SUCCESS

  • "Rory O'Malley 'moroni'" I think they need to check their facts

Try this: "Rory O'Malley 'moroni, elder green and elder mckinley: the best gay mormon you will ever see'"

    That's better :)

  • Does anyone else think that Bill Hader from SNL would make a great Elder Price?

  • @Phantomnightwatcher I agree, but I'm not sure he could do the singing.

  • wow really... you guys are dumb.. ppl need to stop making fun of mormons.. you dont see us making dumb movies or stalking your programs and yelling at other religions. seriously and that lady is stupid you cant have more than one wife.

  • @videosandsuch11 haha mormons are gay so we have every right to make fun of em

  • @videosandsuch11 Religion is stupid and that includes yours you wacko douche so hurra for the funmaking, you're actually telling people to not have fun?

    Idiot.

  • If I was made fun of in South Park, I would consider it quite an honor

  • Ron Howard! Major Arrested Development flashbacks!

  • Do they ever make recordings of broadway shows and release them on dvd? I would love to see this but Broadway is a fucking long way from my house which is in Sydney. Please advise.

  • My neighbors are mormons and their religion is so sacred to them. they talk about it very openly but very humbly. and there is ONE mom and ONE dad... who's this random bitch in the movie like "they have more then one wife!" is she mormon? NO! neither am i but i have RESPECT for these people i am in college and a couple of my friends have served missions for the mormon church when they were 19 or 20. and now one i talk to is back and WAY grown up. SO MUCH farther ahead in just EVERYTHING then me!

  • @ImFreakinDaniels Im mormon retard and mormons do believe that you can have more than 1 wife, and not all mormons have more than 1 wife, you dont have to have multiple wifes to qualify for mormonism.

  • matt stone is hot.

  • I saw this a couple of weeks ago and loved, loved, loved it! I can't get the songs out of my mind - pure earworms!! I do wish the videos taken during previews weren't taken down last week. :( Much more effective seeing the performances on stage! Even though some of the dialogue is shocking-the more you hear the songs, the less 'shocking' they are! Besides, who wrote this? The guys from Southpark and Avenue Q!!! You HAVE to expect what is in this amazing show!!!

  • i love the book of mormon, but i kinda think that they shouldn't have written it, because of people who are ignorant like the woman who said "they can have more than one wife".

  • @ElanaElanaElanaElana at one point in time they did partake in polygamy

  • @NorteRed206 that was because all the men were dying from persicution and the wars of early america. the ones left took in the wives with children and took care of them. i know mormons and their great people! their my neighbors and there is one mom, one dad and 2 kids. sounds pretty normal to me. and they are REALLY nice people. the genuine nice that is just awesome not the fake nice where its cheesy. and how many people would give up 2 years of their life for their religion? thats DAMN DEVOTED.

  • @ImFreakinDaniels two years is not much really, know any jehovahs witnesses?

  • Brother Mouzone

  • Can u guys please get your facts straight before making a musical or even going to see this musical . It is complete mockery to real Mormons . First Mormons can't have more than one wife . & Second this is all just garabage ! Smh this is sad

  • @marchsfinest Unless you've seen it, then shut up. Trey and Matt are brilliant and it's a phenomenal musical. And FYI, a lot of Mormons have seen the musical and loved it. A friend of mine is a Mormon missionary and wasn't offended by it at all by it. You obviously need to get your facts straight, because most fundamentalist Mormons are polygamists.

  • @marchsfinest It is a mockery, I am a mormon and I know everything about it but you cant throw away the fact that the this is a hilarious musical. People need to not believe in everything they here about mormonism though

  • if this is opening night, how has BIll Hader seen this 7 times?

  • @popomczowzow Previews happen for all shows for a month or two before they open.

  • "God actually wrote this through us."

    LOL, nice play on mormons

I really need to see this, I feel as if my life won't be complete until I see this musical xl

  • EVERYONE HAS AIDS!!!

  • 3:05 B E S T Answer xD

  • I dont think the interviewer noticed that Rory O'Malley didn't ONLY play Moroni.... He played quite a bigger role.... as Elder Mckinley ....

  • First musical? Uhmmmm. Avenue Q?

  • @strawberryicemint They didn't write Avenue Q...

  • oo gonna download all the songs when i c on itunes

  • OMG.. the guy at 1:37 is that guy from Down With Love... he's so old! ha

  • Rory O'Malley plays "moroni" - ? Uh, doesn't he play Elder McKinley? IDK, maybe there's an explanation for it... like... a Ugandan name or something. Haha can someone who's seen the musical fill me in?

  • @SpasticFlailure Moronai is the name of the angel in the actual Book of Mormon. On top of playing Elder McKinley, Rory O'Malley plays Moronai in all of the representations of Mormon history throughout the show.

  • @ellester Ohhhhh okay! I feel pretty stupid now, considering I know who Moronai is..... I just read the caption wrong and didn't make the connection. Thanks for clearing that up. :D

  • @SpasticFlailure He plays both.

  • @kristi5207 Haha yup, got it cleared up now. Thanks! :D

  • "As gingers go, I'm ok."

Oh Ron Howard, I just want to hug you.

  • Lin-Manuel! <3

  • i love rory o'malley!!

  • I bet the boys were stoked that Tony Roberts came to their show.

  • @photolitherland Monty Python's Life of Brian covered that pretty well already, and Jesus Christ Superstar for that matter....

  • im a straight guy, but andrew rannells is a good looking motherfucker

  • @ThePurpleJalapeno i salute you sir! you are secure in your masculinity ;)

  • @ThePurpleJalapeno

Hmm... I gotta disagree with you being straight.

  • When Trey Parker says "god wrote this musical through me" how can a genuine Mormon not believe it? there entire religion is based on god writing a book through an unlikely person

  • @hughjarrse Brilliantly said!! haha : )

  • "God actually wrote this musical through us" 3:05

  • Took until almost the end of the musical to bring in Robert Lopez, Jesus.

  • absurdmike. that only happens on very rare occasions because you have to be sealed to the second wife.

  • OMG its Ben Rappaport!

  • This whole thing is wonderful, but I have to say, the interviewer in this is SUCH a derp.

  • @CanTake8 To quote you..."It is odd how christians think weird things of mormons, seeing as how their book contains slavery, polygamy and adultery, and christian rites can involve eating flesh and drinking blood."

LOL, Well that's overstating it a bit... the flesh and blood are usually bread and water or bread and wine, only metaphors.

@GeezusCometh sorry bro, despite what you've heard, Mormons have only one wife. Polygamy ended over 150 years ago with us. Only splinter groups do it.

  • @quietvoiceofreason Over one billion Catholics believe that if the priest rings the bell, the bread will literally change into the flesh of Christ, and the wine will literally change into the blood of Christ. No metaphors but the real thing ("transsubstantiation"). This is what one billion people on this planet (have to) believe.

  • @Kannon12 Yes, but none of them are Mormon. CanTake8 had said that eating flesh and drinking blood was a practice of Mormons, as promoted by the Book of Mormon. I lived in Rome, about 2 minutes from the Vatican, and am well versed in Catholic beliefs, but Mormons do not believe in the all of the doctrines espoused by Catholicism, such as transubstantiation, ex nihilo creation, the definition of the union of the Trinity. That's all I was saying. Sorry if it was confusing.

  • Brother Mouzone!

  • Now see, I heard that God was actually quite pissed that this musical won the TONY. Apparently he's a "Priscilla: Queen of the Desert" fan.

And is it just me, or do Matt and Trey look like a happy gay couple?

  • @MrBloograss oh please let it be dakota fanning! allways wanted to see her get destroyed by a sweaty hairy muslim guy..

  • Some morons have like twenty wives,!

  • @GeezusCometh Isnt it "mormons"? ...oh, wait...i see what you fucking did there ;)

  • mormons dont have more than one wife. we do, however, have a grate sense of humor....

  • Rory O'Malley is so handsome, I just want to eat him up.

  • the lady who said Mormons can have more than one wife should really educate herself so she doesn't come off as an uneducated, ignorant, idiot.

  • @pinkgirly1493. Actually, mormons still do believe that they can have more than one wife. Look it up. At least two of the current apostles are married to more that one wife. When someone's wife dies, and he remaries, the mormons believe that that man is now married to both wives and will be with both of them in the afterlife.

  • Comment removed

  • @2square11. It's true that men in the main mormon sect no longer marry more than one wife while they are still alive. What I am pointing out is that the mormons believe that polygamy can still be ok if one of those wives is already dead

For example, Dallin H. Oaks, has married, become a widower, and remarried. According to mormon doctrine, he is spiritually married to both women still. This is a fact.

Yes, it's rather nit-picky, but hey, what are the youtube comments for if not to nit-pick?

  • "God actually wrote this through us" I was drinking milk and I spit it all over my keyboard! xDD

  • I live around alot of mormons, and ive got to say there the nicest bunch of people i have ever met, ive almost thought of converting just to be apart of the extreme niceness

  • Yeah, that guy with the mike needs a writer.

  • @MrLlamaPro ikr i was just thinkin the same thing

  • 8 Tonys? Yeah I think Broadway was ready for it.

  • I'm Mormon, grew up in Bible Belt, and had a lot of people think weird things about us. (polygamy, cannibalism, satanism, ox worship, lots of things.) I haven't seen this, but still think it's funny.

  • @quietvoiceofreason It is odd how christians think weird things of mormons, seeing as how their book contains slavery, polygamy and adultery, and christian rites can involve eating flesh and drinking blood.

  • I saw this when it was in previews. I just have to say that IT LIVED UP TO ALL THE HYPE x100000. I can definitively say I have never laughed harder (my playbill was literally drenched in tears of laughter), and the songs (even the the non profane ones) were some of the catchiest I've ever heard (I've downloaded them and listen to them everyday). This should win ever single Tony award, best musical, best writing, even best revival, even though it wasn't one. THAT'S how good it was

  • I am an ex Mormon, and I know why people ridicule Mormons. Mormons tend to be judgemental and lotsof the older ones are actually quite racist.

  • @suckaforstraws123 you obviously don't know many mormons very well

  • @suckaforstraws123 As a former Mormon you would know that the church definitely does NOT preach being judgmental or racist. If a mormon is like that, it has nothing to do with the church. There's plenty of people who aren't Mormon who are judgmental, and pretty much any old person is racist considering the era in which they grew up in.

  • @BarbershopHero

There is a slight diifferencce between a run of the mill racist and being in a religious sect that had a doctrine of racism until the late 70's. Good on the Mormons for overturning that doctrine when they did, other sects can't claim as much.

  • OMF! I'm stuck in South Africa. I really want to see this show!!!!!!!!

  • I am Mormon and I think the musical is a good idea, but the language and edginess of it ruins the whole thing. I was expecting something more respectful, pretty disappointing.

  • I'm DYING to see this!! I have free flight privileges, so I might just zip up to NYC to see it when things calm down a little.

  • I'm an agnostic but listen, why would anyone dislike mormons at all? lets say they think with 100% that their stuff is true, isnt it good by them then to try and convert people and dedicate 2 year on a missionary for it?

They get harassed and ridiculed a lot and still does it. This isnt scientology, they arnt in it for your money.

  • Im mormon.. And im going to be a missionary in a couple months.. And before I go im going to see this. It looks so amazing and way super funny! I dont want people to get the wrong views of mormons off people who comment on youtube.. Can we all just laugh at each others weirdness and learn to love? Dammit!

  • David Hyde? is that the guy from Fraiser? the brother Niles?

  • I was raised Mormon and the songs had me fighting for breath! XD I'm sincerely hoping they are going to tour with this show and will bring it to Chicago!!!

  • thnks u.... im not saying tht theses directors suk, i love south park and them...but the fact that ppl and tv shows are constantly making fun of mormons is just ridiculouse... dont make fun of it, becuz ppl seriously dont know nething bout the religion.... its just sad...

  • @MILEYANDMANDYSTINKS Wow, have you seen it? Have you heard the songs? Just the fact that some people who make fun of everyone decided to make a show about your religion doesn't mean it's overly critical. I've heard the songs, and yes, it pokes fun at Mormons, but it also shows the power of religions like Mormonism to help people, and come on, everyone gets made fun of sometimes - it's not done in a hateful way, so laugh along with it, and enjoy the fun. (Also, use spell-check next time, please.)

  • @Tamugetsu ok this is my opinion and idc if they are poking fun then supposedly shoiwing the true power of momonism or whatever The fact is they still made a broadway musical about mormons and made it so ppl can laugh at it. What you have to say is your opinion and this is mine. and ur last comment was unnecessary and dumb.

  • @MILEYANDMANDYSTINKS why do you think people who make fun of mormons are ridiculous? mormons make fun of people, but i bet you don't think that's ridiculous?

i find it highly ridiculous when a religion can make groups of people feel less than equal, maligned & even hated...people like you think it's ok. but should a musical, a god damned musical makes truthful fun of religion it's ridiculous!

you know buster, it's you who's a sad, disgusting, ignorant, insult to humanity. how ridiculous is that?

  • @wntoply6 Wow u OBVIOUSLY no NOTHING about the religion.... do me a favor go in to the world for once in your life and learn how everything works. YOU my friend are sad, disgusting, ignorant, and an insult to hummanity. You have absaloutly no idea what you are even talking about, you are probably some lazy, negative, good for nothing, low life ass and you need to think before you write. K?

  • @MILEYANDMANDYSTINKS i know enough about the religion, perhaps more than you want, & what i know is quite enough vomit for me, thank you!

because you take their bullshit as, pardon the pun, "gospel" doesn't mean they're not factually an outfit full of ignorant bigots who malign people they don't WANT OR CARE to understand. the evil & harm they do is far worse than anything i could ever say! GOT IT?

sorry, but it's your type who are the true low life asses who NEVER think before you write, K!

  • @MILEYANDMANDYSTINKS now if you're prepared to carry on a dialog about YOUR ignorance & intolerance, are ready to be educated, have your ears pinned back, & if you're prepared to have that or any religion "crucified", to which you will have no defense, let it commence.

until then buddy, i suggest you remain in the cave you were raised in!

people like you make me sick & i welcome the opportunity to make utter fools of you, in public where you have no recourse but to HIDE! come on, i'm waiting!

  • @wntoply6 Hun i love how you are trying to act like some tough bitch by making absaloutly no sense. U have ur "Oppinions" and i have mine. ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU that make me SICK! I gave my oppinion and im sticking to it..... OBVIOUSLY u live in the cave becuz u have nothing better to do in ur life then tlk shit to some one u dont even know. It makes me laugh my ass off! :)

  • @MILEYANDMANDYSTINKS dearie, how can one of intelligence possibly make sense to anyone who thinks "magic underwear" protects them?

  • I am constantly amazed by those two.

  • wow i find this disrespectful because i am mormon....just wow

  • Understandable.

  • I love how you see Trey crying!

  • All the shows are in New York :(

  • Avenue Q was better!

  • @SadSadLifeofBob I agree Avenue Q is Amazing, but these are to different things. Book of Mormon is just Zazzy

  • Knight you as Mormons? Wow...I am not sure what to think of this.

  • That play was amazing! My dad and I went in with really high expectations, and came out with our minds blown! It was just the funniest thing ever!

  • general buttfuckinnaked

  • Great musical, but what an inane, vapid interviewer with the stupidest fucking questions.

  • @EinsteinvsEisenstein I love how they handle the one at 3:06

  • @EinsteinvsEisenstein - This is an everyday experience. Drink the Kool Aid!

  • Lot of self-pinching going on in this video.

  • Book of Mormon" leads with 14 Tony nominations

  • I'm a Mormon, and from what i've heard, this play really does sound good, critical acclaim can't be stronger. From Penn Jilette said about it, this play is about loving all people, but rejecting religion, personally i think you can have both, but the so called atheist's love letter to mormonism really does sound like a hoot, i'm not sure if i'd watch it but it's certainly something to look out for.

  • Fantastic, Hilarious, couldn't stop laughing.

  • Comment removed

  • When did Trey Parker clean up? I didn't recognize him.

  • It's a great time to be Trey and matt.

  • David Hyde Pierce!! :D

  • Lin-Manuel Miranda!

You gotta love Trey's and Matt's healthy satire. It is offensive, it is racy, it is gross, but Trey and Matt ultimately do see the positive side of organized religion even in one they find as goofy as the origins of Mormonism
