I'm not excusing the guy - he's a psycho for sure -- but does everybody know that NYC buses don't accept dollar bills? That's right, you need $2.50 in change if your metrocard malfunctions, which it frequently does. Giving people a break should be the norm, espeecially considering the buses are always late & crowded and the fares are some of the highest in the world. As a recently retired bus operator in Broward County, Florida I know of the violence first hand; our union Amalgamated Transit Union advocates a no fare system, simply because of the violence. Transit workers are are attacked more than any other profession.

@proudpapa061, sadly this kind of problem seems to be on the rise. Where I live a bus driver honked his horn at a car parked in a bus zone. The car owner got on the bus and gave the guy a beating. Passengers got the fool of the bus and the bus continued on it's way but with the assaulter following. Thankfully people got on their cells and the police showed up and arrested him. Just recently a female driver was beaten by some teens. I just don't get it.
