They really should try a 2012 remake of Bewitched. It's been off the air for 40 years now. It's time. JJ Abrams should give it a spin. There's a few great younger actresses who would do justice to the role with the right script, and the right direction.
This show had ZERO charisma, none of the actors seemed to put any magic into it. The 70's was a different era and they were really stupid for even trying to do this show. Liz was garnering Emmy noms for her brilliant TV work, why go back and do this dreck?
Appealing cast and idea, but a classic example of what happens when studio executives are allowed to tamper with the script. If a show doesn't have a strong executive producer or uncompromising lead actor this is what happens.
Even today..the damn, stupid producers, writers and network execs try to recreate old tv shows..they'll never learn..you can't bring a classic back to tv.

There was one other actor who spilled over from "Bewitched". Dick Wilson (Charmin's "Mr Whipple") turned up time and time again in the original series, usually as a drunk when Darrin would take off to a bar to blow off some steam. In this spinoff, he was one of the neighbors in Tabitha's apartment building, and was again usually shown teetering home after celebrating a little too much.
I watched the shows here on you-tube with Sandra Gould as Gladys Cravitz and George Tobias as Abner Cravitz from bewitched in a 1977 episode of Tabitha.
TV has always 'magically' aged a show's character. I think Lisa Hartman was a good choice but the writing was bad. It was one thing to 'age' Tabitha and Adam, but to switch their birth order was stupid when everybody knew that Tabitha was the oldest. And I don't think ABC would've put money into a suspected dud. I think if more time and effort had gone into the plot, then the show just might've been successful. Just too many inconsistencies.
@beachgrad98 Hey good point. Although Minerva could've been Endora's younger sister; seems like there was a Clara, Hagatha, and Enchantra if I recall. Darn shame the show didn't make it. I though Lisa Hartman was a cute Tabitha and she and Robert Urich seemed to have chemistry.

I collect bad sitcoms on dvd and bought the complete series it was not as bad as I thought but you know one thing didnt make since bewitch had only left the air ways maybe five or six years prior how in the hell did tabby go from cute kid to twenty something hottie
Kristina Lilley would be the perfect grandma! knows the mean play from soaps and the looks she got now, a hot grandma! grrr! Remake Bewitched !!! with Lilley as hot Adam's grandma. Adam is 22. Hot and pretty and good looking! come on Disney Kids Channel!!! ABC? TV?
I remember when this came on, in the late 70´s, I was looking forward to see this new show, because I loved Bewitched, and as a kid I was very dissapointed when I saw it the first time. I think Lisa Hartman, didn´t have the Charisma of Samantha.
I have had that blasted "Pizza University" song in my head since 1978, despite only hearing it on that one episode when it aired. I don't know whether to be pleased or appalled that I remembered it EXACTLY right.
I've searched for Tabitha clips on and off on Youtube for a few years. Glad to see there are some clips here now. I enjoyed this show a lot when it aired...but it wasn't as good as Bewitched. A Friday night at 8pm timeslot on ABC didn't help either! Thanks for the clip.

No offense, but Lisa Hartman is really ugly. That's why Tabitha (the series) didn't make it. I never fully understood why Kathy Ireland and Rory Emerald made some uncouth remarks about "Tabitha Stephens" but now I know. Miss Hartman looks like she does methamphetamine, and heroin.
I met Liz a few times, and was a HUGE Bewitched fan, this show lacked everything, charm, charisma and good writing, it was just plain dismal. Liz wanted no part of it and for good reason. You can't recreate past magic.
I think the reason why it failed was because the quality writing that "Bewitched" had just wasn't there.
Furthermore, too many people were making comparisons to this show and "Bewitched" instead of judging it on its own merits, which probably wouldn't have helped anyway.
I also recall someone bemoaning the fact that Erin Murphy, the original Tabitha from "Bewitched", didn't reclaim her role for this show. Erin was about 14 or 15 when this show premiered in '77, so it wouldn't work...
I'm pretty sure to this day..Ms.Hartman would prefer to forget that she ever did this stupid tv spinoff.

@71666kdb Not mention Minerva would have to have been Samantha's sister and there is no mention in the original series of her having any siblings.

okay, so people know, the company originally spelled it Tabatha, then changed it to Tabitha. It stayed that way until the last season.
I think Erin was the cutest toddler i have ever seen, but i don't think she was that pretty. (or maybe i just miss when she was little)
