@energizer72 YOU ARE SO VERY WELCOME! I remember when this first came on radio and i had no idea back then who sang it and I was just going Crazy as I loved that BASS coming in and then the slide strings and that Huge Airplane was taking off, LOVED This track, I would always wait for this to come on radio, realize, this was way Waaay before the CD or computer files were around so Radio was HUGE back then! unless you owned a phonograph like I did and wore each album completely out like I did
Great song indeed! That line "take me higher" gets me everytime.
And I don't know about you but the musicians on these songs really made a number on those fierce string arrangements. And you think that only Bernard Hermann could get away with using staccato strings.
one of the premier 70s disco groups that started it all with "fly, robin, fly", this track from their 3rd lp from1976 was my fav-still sounds great 35 years later!
..and just when you thought they were burnt to ashes-the phoenix will be rising again! Wait for
"Voodoo Woman 2010"-a new remix for Edition Butterfly. By the way SC are touring again in germany! See them soon ...Chris Cowley/Mike Pale, Frankfurt/Hamburg 2009
Hi, my name is Armando, I´m in Veracruz, Mexico and enjoy too much the voice of this german singers. Nice strings of Fritz Sonnleiter and a very nice bass. Any body knows who play this instrument?
Sorry about my english.
Congratulations and thanks for share us this beautyfull music.
i like the mellow and emotional bridges that Silver Convention used in their songs, like the part on this song where they sing "Take Me Higher" and listen to "Magic Mountain "where the Bridge comes in with only Music"
WOW!! Never even heard this before. Growly bass up front in the mix. Plus, Fender Rhodes with a flanger. I love it! Definitely not your average disco. Leave it to the Germans.
Probably the most underatted Silver Convention track of all. Their Madhouse, concept album was truly unique. Yes, we are definatley living in a madhouse. Thanks for this.
we absolutely are now days, I remember when you could leave your porch, your back door and everything else open, now days you can't do that so its a madhouse for sure, this album was ahead of its time, they should have rereleased it in HDD disc because its so relevent for today!!!
This album is a masterpiece. SC's best, and among the greatest albums in disco music history. A pity it never got the attention it deserved back then.
I think they said..."They call your number, and then you say you'll be right over there" Midnight lady, Walking By, Midnight Lady, you think you're smart, Midnight Lady, Flying High, Midnight Lady, you're selling your heart.
i think that the "they call your number" sounds more appropriate because they are talking about a lady of the night(prostitute) so se will be getting calls from many guys.
"Midnight Lady" has a nice melody, too. That's the song with the lyrics [Late for your lover/Then you said you'll be right over there/Midnight lady/Walking by/Midnight lady/You're selling your heart]. Am I right?
"Dancing In The Aisles" (on a 747) [1976] from MADHOUSE is among my favorites of Silver Convention. This song is a similar musical arrangement along the lines of "Fly, Robin Fly" with the melody and swooping strings. My other favorite songs from MADHOUSE are "Everybody Is Talkin' About Love" and "I'm Not A Slot Machine".
dancing in the aisle was my fave too. i also loved the title track ,the whole albumn was uite different for them. i wish madhouse was available on cd......
There is something I love about MAGIC MOUNTAIN also, I love that ending where they say "DON'T FORGET THERE'S NO WAY BACK" I am just crazy about everything put out by Silver Convention. I was so sad when they stopped putting out records and I had not where to turn to get more music even close to what they put out.
I know that on the keyboards was Sylvester Levay who was also the composer of SC music. The violins were orchestrated by Fritz Sonleitner and some other musicians were part of the Munich machine orchetra which acoompanied other European artists ie DD Jackson,La Bionda, DD sound and early recordings of G. Moroder.
i am to monterrey Mexico, this is the best music
