ma .....io non vedo niente che si avvicini a una saldatura!gli americani sono indietro su queste cose come le palle del cane!lavorano con materiali che usavamo 20 anni fa noi!
If I was doing that joint, I would of atleast dipped my solder into the flush each time I applied it to the fitting. And I would of solder the top joint first as solder would run down to the 2nd.
yo you guys have no fucking i idea how to solders all you have to do is touch the pipe on the top with solder when the pipe is hot and it solders it to getter
Give me a fucking break 1st when your learning you don't start with that big a pipe. 2nd who the fuck uses that piece of shit torch on that big of pipe. 3rd you used way to much solder or you didn't get a 100% joint. Anyway you look at it this sucked ass and that guy needs to go to the hospital to have the broom removed.
@leaddrop propane is more stable and less expensive and runs at a higher BTU's making the job a lot easier, faster, and cleaner...Propane is better than acetylene when it comes to soldering joints hands down.

Sorry folks but I have to put R. Jackson as a know-how in soldering. Good thing he didn't show smaller dia. type M pipe as all you guys'd have the inside skinny on how to do it right. ;)
I'm not crazy about his propane setup for jobs of this caliber (my acet. is about 3X as fast) but it gives enough heat to do the job and still finish a joint to perfection (The cooling between solder feed time leads to a leaking joint.).
It's definitely too small of a torch. I wonder how many minutes of heating they edited from this video. This and part 1 just seem like one big commercial for Taramet Sterling solder.
I just had the water heater replaced and I ran into a tiny problem. I have one fitting leaking some water it's actually the hot water supply. Now I already have water running and I tried to solder the pipe more but It won't do it. What am I doing wrong? am I not waiting enough time to get the pipe hot enough to solder it since water is already running. Any suggestions.
The water in the pipe is turning to steam from torch and the steam will push the liquid solder out. You can't solder with water in the line like that.
you cant solder with water in the pipe because it cools it down too quickly not giving time for the solder to "take" u have to drain all water out of pipe before soldering.
The idea of using a solder with a low melting point may or may not be a good idea. However at 5:00 minutes you was boiling the solder out of the joint and you left incredible GAPS in your soldering job. It highly unlikely that joint would pass an air test. If you want to sell you solder try soldering better for one thing. Some plumber will even cap a four inch peice of tubing with solder or what about tinning the tubing. That is pretty much standard.
The guy knows the how to professionally - learned or adjusted some informationabout soldering - the advertisement is excesive...but ..I gained something.
Good video but I've never seen copper pipe that big being used in the UK and I suspect even in North America it's most likely only used for rare commercial applications.
no that was only 3" pipe. almost any building over 6 floors has a 3" water main. a rare copper pipe is 8" or bigger becuase its not made unless u order it direct from the manufactures. but its still used alot in bigger buildings like 20 floors and above
Is that Newt Gingrich talking?

Brased copper is the best way to join pipes
Brasing uses flux only to join copper with bronz fitting.Lead soldering keeps pipes clean but not solid as a brasing.
