Love this tuning! I was comparing your recording to that of the Hijaz that Pantheon is finally offering, do you know what 8 notes your tuning is? I kinda think yours sounds closer to the Kiavara than to the new Hijaz, which is (B) F# G A# B C# D E F#

@dmjordan - My tuning was a very early experimental attempt at capturing the Hijaz flavor. You could think of it as a split Hijaz that starts on C. The notes are:

C - G,G#, Bb, C,C#, E,F, G

Fun, but challenging! I'm still getting used to the voice the Halo has, and this configuration of the Hijaz is a different flavor as it's not the intervals I had expected (since I'm new to music theory and scales).

My research put the PANArt Hijaz into the Harmonic Minor category in A (the Ding). This is that same scale but in G (the first note in the circle) so the 'flavor' is different moving up and down the circle.

Pretty cool man! Glad to see my Halo's siblings starting to make their way out into the world. And despite the imperfections, I still really, really enjoy this scale. Great technique as well, especially as you are just getting acquainted with your Halo. ;)

Am I crazy or are some of the tonal resonances making the camera go out of focus for a moment? Beautiful HALO. I guess I have quite a while to wait as I am somewhere around 65. Great post - Thanks for showing what it can do.

I'm not sure what happened at the start there. But yeah, the camera had trouble focusing .

A prototype? I remember a statement from Pantheon where Kyle said, he sell no Halo , if he is not 100% confident with his work.

Which is why he's not offering this Hijaz scale model for official sale.

I am a big fan of the Hijaz scale and convinced him to offer this one to me. He explained the things that weren't satisfactory to him about this configuration and I agreed to take it with the limitations in mind.
