  • Meh, more fun to do it yourself

  • Cost of this machine is over 10K

  • I mean how much is the machine?

  • The National Institute for Information Destruction sounds scary

  • How much is it?

  • @MrLeonard55

    Local Hard Drive destruuction ~$10

  • one world : Kill Disk on floppy ,

  • @hitachi088 Takes way too long, too much bother and the effectiveness of overwriting with zeros is debated. Physical destruction = guaranteed and quick.

  • who care your company valuable trade secret.or government scandal confidential material, history will tell.destroy hard drive is a sin.

  • What brand machine is it?

  • Why not just run DBAN then give the working pc's with the harddrive to Salvation Army or something like that?

  • @HybridPineapple because unfortunately many of the computers are obsolete equipment that isnt going to help anyone there comes a time that an old computer is about as precious as a red brick. and it would cost more to get them upto par and even then there still almost useless.

  • @HybridPineapple The safest way is physical destruction. HD's are easy to buy now to replace with low cost.

  • @trashtalker226 Because people wouldn't pay you to do that I'm sure. Pardon my cynicism but I'm sure tat' a part of it.

  • @trashtalker226 No, it isn't and thy are not cheap

  • besides the units possibly being obsolete by the time this action has occurred , a strong magnet will actually deem the information obliterated beyond comprehensino by any known means. they could donate these hard drives to charity's or resold them as used. this would save the energy required to reassemble them as new hard drives. duh.

  • 0.o that hard drive might still work why dont you just format it then put them in other computers?

  • Beacuse when even you format it some clusters keep the data intact... Only formating it a lot of times you will secure that all the data was deleted or format your HDD and fill it up with junk data and repeat the process lots of time.

  • oh ok so ill just smash it lol

  • Oh U!

    I agree with you!

But only if don't want to keep that HDD.

  • ok I want to keep all of my HDD

  • oh, i love it when men destroy things.
