Yeah... In my opinion, Nightwish 'was' better back then, Don't get me wrong, it's still good. but not at its peak in my opinion, maybe it's just because I started listening to them as it was. anyone who'd start listening with Anette first then switch to Tarja might feel the opposite way, like it's better now and it was worse back then. but hey, everyone's taste is in nature, is it not?

I cant say i know alot about nightwish because i started to listen nightwish in 2012 but just by listening only a few days i saw how amazing nightwish was with tarja and then again nightwish is quite good with anette but in my opinion maybe with tarja they would be better...dont know why did they have something against tarja but however you put it its so cold what they did,i mean they could said her in face if they had problem and not give her a f...... letter -.-' at least thats what i read :'(

@oODarkLinkOo couldn't agree more, for my birthday I really wanted to go see them live, but then I read about the break-up and replacement, which really disappointed me and left me feeling sorry for Tarja and disappointed I couldn't witness my favourite band perform live again. She didn't deserve it and her private life didn't have to be any business of the band anyway!

@bbbbisthebest She didn't deserve it? I guess you don't know the whole story. Tarja got a swelled head and intentionally missed rehearsals. Any band would boot someone out for that. Not to mention there were conflicts between Tarja's husband, who she hired as her own personal manager, and Tuomas. Only thing the band did wrong was how they told Tarja she was out of the band. They should have told her face-to-face instead of in a letter. Tarja gave best wishes to the band and Anette.

Well, you have your opinion, I have mine. Tarja is still really awesome and I love her voice, but so is Nightwish. I hate it when people goof one Nightwish just because the singer change, and crie like babies. It's a GROUP, not a onemanperformace. @TheArthuryk An interesting comparison. Bruce got the "Annette treatment" from many of the hardcore Iron Maiden fans when he replaced Paul Dianno in 1982. Even 4 years later when Maiden was ruling the metal world with "Powerslave", the Bruce vs Paul debate was raging with the original Maiden fans hating on Bruce (I was a loud defender of Bruce and had many an argument/debate defending "new Maiden").

Now 30 years later Nightwish fans that can't let go are doing the same thing.

Tarja did 5 albuns and when anette came in she did a shitty album. Anette singing Tarja songs live is so fucking bad. For me, Anette era is the same of Blaze Bayley era of maiden. (my english is fucking bad, sorry)

Dark Passion play is their most succsessful album so they are at their peak so far (commercially) as was Iron Maiden with Bruce and Number of the Beast. Maiden was an irrelavent "old fart band" in the Blaze Bayley era. People at the time incorrectly blamed Bruce Dickenson for the less complicated nature of the songs compared to Killers as Annette has been incorrectly blamed (both albums were finished before the new singers were in the band).

Well Tarja was just to cocky, fame had risen to her head.

So Nightwish made the right choice to boot her.

Ofcourse her sound was unique and a pillar upon which Nightwish was built.

But she let allot of fans down by walking away from meet and greets n such.

So yea that didn't leave allot choices for the other band members.

Anette is completely different from Tarja she does bring a new sound to Nightwish.

Don't write her of just because she isn't Tarja.
