  • They gave credit to partying in this game? Wow!!!! :b

  • I'm made to wonder if anyone had their lives saved by this game. Maybe someone turned around to find someone trying to kill them, allowing them to dodge and fight back. All because the game warned them to turn around.

...what? It could happen! IT COULD!

  • Thank you Emulation, English-translations, fast-forward functions and save states! I love you so much! :)

Because of you, older, annoying games are now bearable (and understandable) to play now!

Because of you I no longer have to record, keep track of and put in long passwords, and finally nearly impossible games are now actually fair, and surprisingly beatable! (that I couldn't ever dream of finishing in my childhood!) :D

And thank you DeceasedCrab, for just being you! :D

  • I know, I'll kill the Belmonts!

    19 years later...

    DIE HUNTER

  • DrYang was in charge of Partying. :D

  • You know, this boss has MANY similarities to GALBALAN. He flies, he fires lightning out of his hands, and he shoots fire out of his mouth.

He also has a small vulnerability time...I don't know what this could mean. Can GALBALAN travel through time?

  • Kid Dracula gets all the witches.

  • I see them uppity punks rollin', covetin' my coven.

  • BEHIND YOU

Brings back memories...Now I'll have to turn on the lights :P

  • It's Galamoth!!

  • Good grief in a jar of rotten spam, that was a tough game! Though the continue points were the real torture of it. Good let's play!

  • Ah, Konami. Less Engrish in this game than ones released in the U.S. Figures.

  • Probably because it was fan-translated. Don't ask me why games translated by fans have such better grammar compared to games translated by paid professionals.

  • My guess is that the monsters befriended Kid Dracula at the end of the game so he wouldn't kill them indiscriminately for their coins, thus extending his own life by reducing the lives of others.

Also, I'll add my name to the list of people who disapprove of a lack of checkpoints.

  • That last part was kind of weak, I didn't think it was the actual ending. :\

  • DC, would you ever consider doing a Dwarf Fortress LP in the same way you did Evil Power Master? Or has your sanity not been damaged enough to do it?

  • great konami game can't wait for next let's play

  • Huzzah! You beat the game, Deceased Crab!

  • The world has to thank a kid vampire for saving them from an alien invasion. What has the universe come to...?

  • Dr. Yang was in charge of partying.... Interesting job for a game.

  • also, apparently the quality of your recordings suddenly became perfect!

  • Finally an end to this cruel game.

  • This is a great game about becoming the supreme ruler of all that is unholy.

  • So.....technically, is this game part of the Castlevania canon? I was told some very scary things, like that it was.

  • What?

    I'll help you kill Belmont.

  • They could've at least had an enemy credits bit in the end, that would've been fun to see. Oh well, goodbye Kid Dracula.

  • "...and he became the Demon Lord once more."

Ah, I love a happy ending.

  • The final boss looks like something from a Dragon Ball episode...

  • I swear, right when the game said, "Look out behind you!" I immediately remembered the giant spider in my room.

  • I miss the days when they needed an expert to help with the partying factor in the production of a video game.

  • ...that ending made about as much sense as sleeping in an Iron Maiden to cure a back problem.

  • Itsssss over already? dayum.

  • This game was pleasantly free of plot.

  • Hooray! Kid Dracula regained his status by...wiping out some aliens? I guess...? Well, I'm sure he'll have a nice childhood, then adulthood comes and, well, we all know what happens then.

  • Hey DC! Just from what I can tell, you seem to like to do Indie Game LP's (Knytt, Knytt Stories, La Mulana, Cave Story), over the more commercial games (Civilization, Goonies II, Journey to Silius), but if your taking requests: you should do Castlevania (1,2, or 3) next. It would make my heart grow two whole sizes. I don't know what size that would make it. G or something?

Other games I'd like to request: Astynaxe?, Civilization 2 (My favorite of the civ series), Romancing the Stone.

  • It's Astyanax.

  • Thank you! I should have looked it up. I take my spelling correction with appropriate shame...

  • Dr yang likes to party, apparently

  • Partying by DrYang?

  • So Dr. Yang was responsible for the partying?

Yes, we can tell that much partying was had after this game's completion.

He probably had the hardest job.

  • Ah, another crazy game by Konami.

  • Konami should make a Kid Pyramid Head game that's a light and happy platformer. Oh wait, what a terrible idea.

  • Kid Dracula : difficulty :: Eversion : tendency to disturb people.

  • Did you notice that DrYang was in charge of partying? No wonder they had to use pseudonyms back then.

  • when I grow up I want to be in charge of partying

  • Good job, cant wait for more LPs DC.

  • hehe, I liked the looks of this game

  • In the hilarious "Don't copy that floppy", there's a BioWare guy saying that games might have up to 30 people working on a game! 30! These days hundreds is not uncommon. For the time, I'd say Kid Dracula's credits are actually quite a large team!

In fact, even after the era of the NES, it was still possible for a handful of people to make games - Wiz n Liz was made by just two main people if memory serves.

    Ahh, fun times :)

  • Um... wow.

Why would they contain a character from some anime show made of constipated screams?

    Madness!

  • And that was the end of Kid Dracula's insane adventure!

    Wonder what is next...

Ps: Platformer Shatterhands on NES is a blast. :P

But I have a feeling you'll take a sad game now. :< Damn you for making us trying to figure out your next move.

  • Let me get this straight. Dracula decides to be the hero as a kid, but now as an adult, he just goes doing whatever he can to rule the world? Whats going on...

  • Predicting DC's next LP..... Kickle Cubicle!

  • Thought about it. It's a great game, no denying that. But I don't think you guys would stand for an action-puzzle game with that little momentum.

  • Yea it'd be like LPing Lolo or something, not exactly 'intense' gameplay, just fun.

  • @DeceasedCrab I would. I've played it, and it's a great game. I bet a lot of your other fans would too.

  • I like that the guy in charge of partying is apparently a doctor.

  • After the events of this game, Kid Dracula reviewed the resume of a guy calling himself "Shaft" and figured, "Eh, as long as he stays away from my fine witch honey, he can crash here."

Kid Dracula loves his fine witch honeys.

  • Great LP, DC.

  • Congrats.

  • Did it say partying?

  • According to the credits, they had one guy on the team solely for the purpose of partying.

  • Oh my god, I want his job!

  • And he was a doctor too

  • Dr. Yang!! Woot.

  • And it was Dr Yang no less. That was the name they gave Ebisimaru from Mystical Ninja in the first game ported to the US.

  • DrYang, Official Konami Partier

  • DrYang is one happenin' cat.

  • I bet they made that guy party because they wanted to keep him from making the game good. :P

  • not only that, but the name was Dr. Yang, the second character from Mystical Ninja

  • A lot of games need one of those.

  • I want that guys job if thats the case

  • Haha! Awesome!

  • Who wouldn't want to party with a guy named Dr. Yang?

And, aw. I was hoping the last bit at the very end would be another boss or somesuch.

  • DrYang the party machine!

  • DrYang.

    A PHD in PARTY!

  • Awesome job to be in possession of, I wager.

  • I would say Dr. Yang made significant contributions to the creative process. Unfortunately, most of them were illegal.

  • Dr Yang must of had the best job ever.

  • Must have been, one really lonely party.

  • DrYang xD That's riduclously awesome.

  • Best. Job. Ever.

  • Dr. Yang is very lucky

  • I think Dr Yang has the job we all wish we had.

  • 2:28 :D

    that guy must rock ~

  • Good ol' Dr. Yang. He has some awesome parties.

  • How can such a cute looking game be filled with such horrific evil?

It's like Eversion, except less blood and, you know, fun.

  • One word, Konami.

  • yay, finished this evil game of evil evilness

  • Not that the last stretch should've been any more difficult, but I was kind of disappointed with the final boss not being in any way multi-tiered :/

    Nash out.

  • The Gameboy remake of it adds a second phase. It's horribly disappointing.

  • It's an old Konami game, what did you expect?

Kid Richard Belmont to be the alien-bat thing?

  • Agreed, Cordovan. Even two forms, or maybe a small gauntlet, would've been better.

  • Who did you think the boss was? Dracula?
