May I remind you that this film came out in the late 90s. This was a true achievement to our audiences back then. To have such a stereotypical view of South Indian viewers judging by a film which was made more than a decade ago is pretty retarded. Watch the movie "Endhiran" - its a South Indian film (which has also been dubbed into Hindi and Telugu) and its the most expensive ASIAN movie to be made. Watch it and tell me again that our industry sucks cause quite frankly, it doesnt.

@Hari2K10 out of curiosity, I checked out Endhiran", hoping for a good SF flick after I've seen the trailer... Damn, what a dissapointment. :( The CGI effects and camera work - 10/10. But the story really is linear and predictable . Damn, even Avatar did not have a strong story but at least it was executed with masterful skill - something that is visible missing in this film. The acting was extremely sub standard (it's OBVIOUS, I hope, even for indians). The fatty acting as a robot was OK though

I'm a South Indian, and no, no one believes this. Everyone understands that this is an exaggeration of real life, but that it's not actually real life. The camera (and/or CGI) is being used to perceptually distort actions and movements of the protagonist in order to clearly define him/her to those who are illiterate
