Y'know what I first hated the old punk sound on my 1st listen but it's pretty damn good punk rock if you give it a chance. The picture would be much better if you put one of the original lineup (not this Ocean avenue era one).
WoW! Hell yeah! Looooove Yellowcard. Been listening to a lot of Yellowcard, Hey You, The Offspring, My Chemical Romance, Blink, Sum 41, and No Doubt...

Hey guys, we are an alternative pop punk band called Scarlet Smile and we really like and are really influenced by Yellowcard. If you like them then hopefully you will like us. It would mean the world to us if you checked out our channel, thank you so much (:
I started listening YC when OA just came out. Then after a few years i started searching for every song of them. Then I found out they also made this kind of music, and I didnt realy thought it was that bad. After listening a few times I even liked the songs, and I still do:D
I bot this cd off the yellowcard boys when they performed at a local skate park back in 1998, before they were big. It was an epic show. Still got the cd too
After listening to the Ryan Key Yellowcard for most of my life, (I started listening when I was 6) It's very different to hear the Ben Dobson sound of it. I adore punk, of course, and I do love this too, but it's crazy to hear the variation the band has gone through. A very talented bunch of mates, if I do say so myself. Dobson and Key add very different elements but are both very much enjoyable. Stay strong, Yellowcard. :)
The audience is feedback to whether you are good or not. So of course you're going to want to play to impress, but there's nothing wrong with kicking back and doing what you feel like for a change.
thats when yellowcard was actually punk and the singer at the time was Ben Dobson!!! They rocked back in the day then they got rid of ben and now they are pansies!!!!!
People talking about bands being sellouts because they make music to make money... is just ridiculous.
Using this logic... If you are an employed person, you are a sellout. Why? Because you are using your god given talents to make money and provide for yourselves and family. That's all famous bands are doing. Chill.
@sk8brder40 when people talk about sellouts they mean bands that switch their genre to go along with whatever is currently popular and end up drifting from what they originally sounded like...
it doesn't really matter though, if you don't like a bands new stuff just listen to their old stuff and stop bitching
@dvallain this song doesnt suck, its just a different type of music to what you like, this is amazing punk rock music, and the newer yellowcard is amazing pop-rock music
Then go listen to something else you fucking dipshit. You are the type of person that encourages bands to change from awesome to just another pop-punk shitty band that churns out the newest in whiny music with the expensive video clip. Fucks like you eat that shit up and keep the record companies happy, you keep the cycle going bleeding what was once a brilliant genre into another product. Go. Fuck. Yourself.
@13Avian13 Whoa people like you are hilarious. There was no resectful way to say that? Or were just bored and decided to cuss someone out for the heck of it? I LOVE this band and will support them through everything they do. Idiots like you are what makes awesome bands like Yellowcard look bad. Do you not like the new Yellowcard? Because yes they are pop-punk now and they still rock to me. And I said I loved this song. Plus that was months ago and I'm more open to this type of music. Get a life
There will be no blessing because guess what? God isn't real! That's right, the bible was just made by a few sexist, homophobic, perverted cunts that decided they will be able to control mindless drones like you by writing a book. It isn't just a genre of music you are destroying, brilliant.
There's a lot of stupid people who don't read the info. This is not a new song.
In addition to this, despite this being an older song before the days of Ryan, if you like it or not is a PERSONAL PREFERENCE. I like their current stuff, this to me is just "different" but enjoyable in its context.
Anyone else love LP's drumming style? I think he's very talented.
I understand that people are saying that fame doesn't matter if the band is good. And that's true. Check out Tat, they're not famous but they're REALLY good. However, Ocean Avenue and above is where I believe Yellowcard was good. Their older stuff just doesn't appeal to me.
Yea this style is almost entirely different from the newer Yellowcard. I'm not a big fan of it myself but obviously others are. I'm definitely glad that they went in the direction that they did.
@cofley obvioulsy ur missing the point of what made THIS yellowcard great. they were talented, wrote well written lyrics.. and didnt give a FUCK about fame or money. true punk rockers. so fuck ryan key for ruining them.
@hotpokets182 Ryan Key's YC still wrote great lyrics. And believe me, they did give something about money - what else would they earn money from? Yeah I know it's different from the old YC, but the new still has quality
@cofley what imeant by the money thing is it wasnt a priority, or they didnt care how much they earned. sure u have to make some to keep it going, its nearly impossible if u choose to be COMPLETLY anti capitalist. idk if they were. but yeah wehile newer yc has quality, its mostly mtv produced poppy rock music like everything else on the radio and tv. this yc had talent, and it was completly DIY, which makes it 100 times better, cuase its all real and true
@cofley no a TRUE musician makes music no matter what, i know a lot of musicians, they all have bags of talent and write some amazing stuff, but they have other jobs to bring in money, so you dont have to make money from music, but it obviously helps, cos then you can do it full time =)
A true musician would want his music to be loved by people and not just by himself and his friends , and be able to make a living from it so he could have free time making more of it .
@MoonknightX9 i agree with the having more time to make music, but a true musician makes music for themselves and themselves only, if you make music to make others happy then you shouldn't be making it
@jkim4007 not always. But for a lot of musicians that is the case. So don't tell me to get real you fucking twat. Musicians should play what they want to play not change their style just to fit in with everyone else.
@stigno89 Musicians should play what they want to play, but if they ever want to make a career out of it, they're not going to accomplish anything by disregarding their fans.
@Hidratos fuck off man, I understand music completely, I would never switch to play a style of music that I dont like just to get more popular, I stick to the music I want to play because I enjoy it the most. If you do any different then you need to question what you're doing

I can't believe this is the same band that has brilliant songs like Ocean Avenue and Breathing. This older style is nowhere near as good, and they improved dramatically when they changed their style IMO. The guy yelling here sounds so bad!
it's funny this yellowcard and the more recent yellowcard could be mistaken for two different bands that coincidentally have the same name cuz they r two completely different styles and sounds but are still both very good.
correction, they had a new album (one for the kids) before they "sold out" that had pretty much the "new" style, and plus every album has been completely different musically since one for the kids and the underdog, so they are just playing what they feel, not selling out
who the fuck cares they need to make their money and fans, if they get more doing what they gotta do than aight let it go. they can't afford to cater to a minority and continue make music. better this than nothing. @hippy
Musicians don't need fans and money to continue. And if they didn't bend over and get sucky, they wouldn't be catering to a minority, they'd just be appealing to another fanbase, not the kids from the hill that think they are all hard and shit for listening to "alternative" rock.
lmfao! but to them that's important obviously that's why they changed their style, to stay on their big label and get more "fans and money." I'm not saying they didn't sell out but damn you sounded a little angry about it. I'm pissed at how Linkin Park changed I miss their old shit more than anybody misses anything :(
This music is okay and all, but you just can't compare it to One For the Kids, Ocean Avenue, Lights and Sounds, and Paper Walls-Mainly becuase Ryan Key is just one of the best singers, and this doesn't show that, they are much more "musicly talented" than what this is showing

I'm sure a couple people have already noticed this, but Ryan did not sing this song. Ben Dobson was the lead singer at the time. Ryan wouldn't join the band until One For the Kids in 2001. Picture fail.

Are you ready to die?
Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins? And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Jesus came, lived a sinless life, died (for our sins) and rose again on the third day.

Ryan gave the band a added distinction, this guy yells and is pointlessly annoying as lead vocals. Love yellowcard, dont like the song
GlowstickAnNeon 2 years ago 3
This IS Yellowcard. But you shouldn't have a picture of Ryan up there... He's not in the band at this time.
