They changed the name of the sparrow hawk to American Kestrel because later research proved that a Kestrel is not a hawk at all. It's a falcon.

Yeah I've seen this before, back in 2004 a Sparrowhawk took down a Dove in our back garden. The sparrowhawk raked its claws into the dove's stomach then flew off for a couple of minutes then came back and picked up the dead body of the Dove.
