They don't have HDNet out here in Lake Havasu. Here's my prob with ROH. When I watch their "Video Wire" here on YouTube, they never put "crawlers" on the bottom of the screen, saying who is who. Not everyone stands out like Nigel McGuiness. That is a MAJOR turn-off. I love this business, and have heard great things about them. I'd hate to buy anything from them, and to have the same problem. Plus, anything looks good in clips, why can't I see an occasional match here on YouTube? Hope I make sens

I first started saying ROH suck and all that bullshit...But I gave it a try and bought Tag wars 08.The greatest show ever!Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Austin Aries & Kota Ibushi is better than anything I'd ever seen and thats what got me to watch ROH.I also bought the CM Punk DVDs and they were kick ass.

Basically my point of my long worhtless comment is to say - not ALL piracy is bad - at least in my case - i watched some free shows that led to me and others buying hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of dvds - tickets to live shows - all the ppvs they put out- so sometimes it helps get the word out. It baffles me that people think WWE is better than ROH. Maybe it is people under 25 i dont know. ROH is the best actual wrestling out there. I've been saying that ROH is a leech brand for years. They have no GOALS of TV time or anything giving the fans something to look forward to for free. DON'T HURT PPV OR DVD SALES. Give me a break. Our local brand (NWA Anachary) has a TV show. That takes TIME, MONEY and COMMITMENT three things ROH management ask their wrestlers give they will never give themselves. Why shouldn't I take every advantage to watch other matches? I recently watched the MCMG/Briscoes match, and I loved it. I justify it with buying 140+ dollars of merchandise which cost them about 2 dollars to send to me.
I'm sure piracy of any company is not a good thing, but I think as far as wrestling is concerned, piracy mainly comes about due to a lack of availability rather than just not wanting to purchase the shows. Now I have some ROH shows and none of them are "official" because of the fact that where I live there is NO distribution for ROH. I'm sure Canada has some, there's gotta be, but not in my neck of the woods. If ROH were to be more available in my area, I would definitely legally purchase some.
Very few of their very old DVD's through Takedown Masters are available at shops like Virgin Megastore, so the only real way to get the ROH DVD's is through their website - ROHwrestling(dot)com.
There is a reason, after all, they keep plugging their site.
ROH needs footage to make non hardcore ROH fans (me) buy ROH dvds. I don't have the money to purchase the dvds on a regular basis. Plus I can't even see enough of ROH to become a good fan of it. Without the Internet i probably wouldn't have confidence in purchasing TNA dvds. They could be hit or misses so im less likely to take a chance.
If you want to remove full matches/events that's fine. But when you remove music videos for instance, that feature only a few fleeting scenes from a ROH match (like 2 seconds in the case of one of my older videos), that's kinda lame imo... I mean come on... that's just enough footage to make people want to check out ROH if you ask me.
pircacy is never a good thing, especially with an up and coming company. they need to make money so maybe one day they could be seen by a national audience.
in England we get ROH on the wrestling channel but i think i have seen the same matches like 50 times because of how many repeats are shown. without the internet allot of people wouldnt know that ROH are still doing shows. i bought several dvd's that ring of honor have put out because i downloaded the events on the internet. thus i belive that the torrents or other forms have helped ROH make some extra money that they would never have got.
Where's the ROH shop that you're talking about? I've always wanted to, at least, buy one DVD from either ROH, TNA (2005 or X-Division), NOAH or New Japan, if I ever got the chance.
ROH pretty much relies on sales from their DVDs and websites. So people watching the video from their computer isn't so much of a big deal anyway because ROH has been on their feet from the DVD sales anyway.

I agree. If I lived somewhere that was covered by Indemand or Dish I would buy it. As it is, I watched it online and will buy the dvd when it comes out. I would never rip-off a good promotion like roh, pwg, dragonsgate etc but take offence to paying for wwe and tna unless I know its an excellent product being offered.

Which is a huge mistake on ROH's part. They should be making their TV debut in October. They should have taken a page out of TNA's playbook and gone after a deal with FX when it became clear that TNA was staying on SPIKE TV much like TNA did when they went after a deal with SPIKE TV when it became clear that WWE was going back to USA Network.
ROH wouldn't make a profit on a TV deal. TV spots cost money. The money spent by ROH being on TV would be greater than the profit ROH would get from the show itself.

Everyone watches streaming be it a movie, tna, wwe, a sporting event, sitcom or something else. The problem I have is in UK there's no guessing when it will be seen and so streaming is the only way possible.

the free spread of information is one of the best ways to get publicity. Someone who only knows WWE isn't going to spend X amount of $ on ROH if he doesn't know what it is. So Driven should be posted on streams and Youtube so it can get buz and fans can easily find an alternitive. Even if ROH doesn't make money initally, if driven is one of the best PPV's it should spawn a larger fanbase
Publicity yes and I said that in my vid but not when you already know the Product which alot of fans do but still insist on not spending money. That is where I have a problem. I didn't complain about Respect is Earned for this Problem but I am on this PPV.

In the past two months I've spent almost $300 at roh's store on ROH and FIP dvd's plus grab bags etc. I'm unable to get Driven on PPV it turns out and I think I'm going to have to wait to DVD because I can't find these "streams" but I'd rather support the company.
Pirating TNA is okay. Buying TNA PPVs live is a HUGE risk. It's like entering the lottery, you have a chance to get a good PPV, but you're probably gonna lose and get a shitty one. If someone actually paid 30 bucks for Hard Justice for instance, they'd have to seriously hold themselves back from running guns to Orlando, open fire on the TNA offices, hope to catch Dixie Carter between the eyes, and then turn the gun on themself due to extreme trauma from paying money on that piece of shit.
I totally agree with you truthslayer, and to be honest, I really couldn't even enjoy the payperview if I was watching it on a free stream. One of the main reasons I buy dvds and ppvs is to support a company I like. People have to realize that when they watch PAY-PER-VIEWS for free they are hurting the business.

The sale of DVD's gives them more capital to continue putting on high quality shows. You're not buying a blank DVD that costs 30 cents to make - you're buying someone's blood, sweat, tears and dreams.

I watch ROH mainly through DVD purchases, mostly because no one has ROH matches on free streams. I support the brand, but I still watch free streaming video. Guess what? I spend 20+ dollars on a DVD which cost them 30 cents to make, they're making approximately 19 dollars off me every single DVD purchase.

Why shouldn't I take every advantage to watch other matches? I recently watched the MCMG/Briscoes match, and I loved it. I justify it with buying 140+ dollars of merchandise which cost them about 2 dollars to send to me.

I'm sure piracy of any company is not a good thing, but I think as far as wrestling is concerned, piracy mainly comes about due to a lack of availability rather than just not wanting to purchase the shows. Now I have some ROH shows and none of them are "official" because of the fact that where I live there is NO distribution for ROH. I'm sure Canada has some, there's gotta be, but not in my neck of the woods. If ROH were to be more available in my area, I would definitely legally purchase some.

Very few of their very old DVD's through Takedown Masters are available at shops like Virgin Megastore, so the only real way to get the ROH DVD's is through their website - ROHwrestling(dot)com.
There is a reason, after all, they keep plugging their site.

ROH needs footage to make non hardcore ROH fans (me) buy ROH dvds. I don't have the money to purchase the dvds on a regular basis. Plus I can't even see enough of ROH to become a good fan of it. Without the Internet i probably wouldn't have confidence in purchasing TNA dvds. They could be hit or misses so im less likely to take a chance.

If you want to remove full matches/events that's fine. But when you remove music videos for instance, that feature only a few fleeting scenes from a ROH match (like 2 seconds in the case of one of my older videos), that's kinda lame imo... I mean come on... that's just enough footage to make people want to check out ROH if you ask me.

in England we get ROH on the wrestling channel but i think i have seen the same matches like 50 times because of how many repeats are shown. without the internet allot of people wouldnt know that ROH are still doing shows. i bought several dvd's that ring of honor have put out because i downloaded the events on the internet. thus i belive that the torrents or other forms have helped ROH make some extra money that they would never have got.

ROH pretty much relies on sales from their DVDs and websites. So people watching the video from their computer isn't so much of a big deal anyway because ROH has been on their feet from the DVD sales anyway.

not everyone has the mone to order PPVs and DVDs. i can't even order the DVDs because no one i know has a credit card. on top of that i have no money and can't order PPV either.
so i have to watch stuff online but i watch everything online not just ROH.

I agree. If I lived somewhere that was covered by Indemand or Dish I would buy it. As it is, I watched it online and will buy the dvd when it comes out. I would never rip-off a good promotion like roh, pwg, dragonsgate etc but take offence to paying for wwe and tna unless I know its an excellent product being offered.

Which is a huge mistake on ROH's part. They should be making their TV debut in October. They should have taken a page out of TNA's playbook and gone after a deal with FX when it became clear that TNA was staying on SPIKE TV much like TNA did when they went after a deal with SPIKE TV when it became clear that WWE was going back to USA Network.

ROH wouldn't make a profit on a TV deal. TV spots cost money. The money spent by ROH being on TV would be greater than the profit ROH would get from the show itself.

the free spread of information is one of the best ways to get publicity. Someone who only knows WWE isn't going to spend X amount of $ on ROH if he doesn't know what it is. So Driven should be posted on streams and Youtube so it can get buz and fans can easily find an alternitive. Even if ROH doesn't make money initally, if driven is one of the best PPV's it should spawn a larger fanbase

I agree with you 100% man. I buy all my stuff except japanese stuff(roh doesn't sell BJW, etc) from ROH. In the past two months I've spent almost $300 at roh's store on ROH and FIP dvd's plus grab bags etc. I'm unable to get Driven on PPV it turns out and I think I'm going to have to wait to DVD because I can't find these "streams" but I'd rather support the company.

Pirating TNA is okay. Buying TNA PPVs live is a HUGE risk. It's like entering the lottery, you have a chance to get a good PPV, but you're probably gonna lose and get a shitty one. If someone actually paid 30 bucks for Hard Justice for instance, they'd have to seriously hold themselves back from running guns to Orlando, open fire on the TNA offices, hope to catch Dixie Carter between the eyes, and then turn the gun on themself due to extreme trauma from paying money on that piece of shit.

I totally agree with you truthslayer, and to be honest, I really couldn't even enjoy the payperview if I was watching it on a free stream. One of the main reasons I buy dvds and ppvs is to support a company I like. People have to realize that when they watch PAY-PER-VIEWS for free they are hurting the business.
