Intel does have BETTER cpu's they dont scale as well...but no one outside of workstation users really require multiple heavy applications to run.

well depends what you mean by better...

if you mean faster, yeah, intel is faster

but in terms of power consumption, the Amd's are more efficient, and if you're someone who does a lot of power computing, an Amd will last longer than an intel, like logan said, focus more on the GPU if you're a gamer, if your cpu takes up less power, there will be more watts to go around in the case of sli/crossfire

you should always have some watts to spare

I have a 8800GTS 512mb from Gigabyte and the stock clock is 700mhz core and 1000mhz memory if i oc the core clock more then 750mhz and the memory 1100mhz the card freezes after 2 minutes of play any game,i have the latest drivers from nvidia(not beta drivers) even if i turn the fan to 100% it stil freezes.I have a GA-M57SLI-S4 motherboard maybe the mobo is not PCI-E 2.0 is 1.0(i don't know)

that is your card's way of telling you that it's overclocked too much. yours is overclocked out of the box, and you're pushing it even further, they have only so far they can go before encountering problems.

strangely, my card would run 3DMark06 fine, but freeze on 05 or 03,if my overclock was too high.
