Always head and shoulders above what was happening; still relevant, still influencial after all this time, absolutely changed my ideas of what "music" was all about back in '77.
I love this song. First heard it in the best punk compilation, "No thanks". Then i got to know wire and Pink flag album became one of my all times favorites.
I feel like going out to buy some aqua net hair spray, putting on my skinny black neck tie and wearing penny loafers. and then, i want to that awkard 80s dance. a sign of good music.
People are still listening! Even in the late seventies this was obxcure! But I loved it then, and is still sounds great, that's the sign of a classic!
I was there when this and many other punk songs came out. My friends were very much in the vanguard of music back in the late 70s and turned me on to it. This song is a classic that really still sounds fresh and exciting today, 30 years later!
you dont even begin to interest me, not even curiosity.... like all women do in so-called "modern age". where did the real women all go? :(

I came to listen to this song because Robert Smith said that The Wire was one of the two bands he liked and respected in the seventies...nice. : )

This always makes me think it could be the template for all of Acrobatic Tenement by At The Drive-In. Quality stuff.

alexjmroy you're voice is all muffled, it's hard to hear what you're saying... I guess it must be because your head is trapped so far up your arse...

You've put your hat in the sea
And phoned the BBC
But your dream is to be an MP
You're just an abstract piece
Unable to dilute your past
Tell me, why don't you tell me ?

You're an energy void
A black hole to avoid
No style no heart
You don't even start To interest me
Not even curiosity
It's not animosity
It's just you don't interest me.

You're a waste of space
No natural grace
You're so bloody thin
You don't even begin
To interest me
Not even curiosity
It's not animosity
It's just you don't interest me.
