I grew up in the 80's and actually had an Electronic band (in fact, I still have it). Live gave way to lipsynching, so the singer could bounce around, and still sound like the recording studio. Unfortunately, most people now have no idea what a clean sound is like...all they hear is ridiculously over-produced crap. You can Rick roll me any day, teh guy can still sing nearly 25 years later... and trust me, being on stage is not easy as you get older!
