And even though it was recognizable, the fact that it was inverted made it less offensive. I'm not sure how that makes sense.
@Circadrum16 Neither am I honestly, but whatever. The rest of the show was left in tact. It was just because we work in a heavily Jewish community and we didn't want to offend anyone.
I am not judging, but as a general rule of theatre, if you can't do an accent, don't.

When Plainview Old Bethpage did this musical in 2000, we had to invert the swastika. It was still recognizable, but not as offensive.
