Thinking is for wankers, we're born, we dance, we die - says everything about the girlbands of that time LOL I love this track, I used to play it back in the day before I did my exams haha
Guess I will settle into the apparent minority of people who loved (still do) the music video spoofs. They were pretty good at hitting the jugular with each genre of music, and a quick browse does show that some of their videos have been mistaken for "real" ones (and some slated accordingly), which adds to the amusement.
Sorry, but got to agree with common consensus here - their spoof songs were appalling, as evidenced by this one. Not even in the same league as NOT's songs, which were a masterclass in observational humour.
Just been playing a bunch of B*Witched songs on youtube to my husband and I snuck this one in to see if he'd notice... he did shake his head and say it sounded pretty terrible but didn't realise it was the STP ladies ;)
Freaky thing: does anyone else see Sally Phillips with a red wing on in the frame at 2:20 - 2:21 in the video of Rollercoaster by B*Wtiched (which THIS Smack The Pony video parodies)??? youtube.com/watch?v=-UcRM6M792Q
I hate the opinion that the songs were the weakest link in the show, they were very funny and observational. It takes a lot to produce a witty send up song and to tap into exactly what they're imitating and still be funny too. Viewed now, with hindsight, they're even more fun, as they're rather nostalgic of a type of pup music that is no longer with us (good or bad? hehe)
No, it was definitely a B*Witched spoof, and it looked a lot like their "C'est la vie" video. Might've been "Goodness Gracious Me" who did it actually. But thanks anyway! :)
a lot of British comedy musical spoofs are extremely subtle and I think that is perhaps why they are not well received as well as they should. this is pretty brilliant and could work with any shitty girl pop band. the only thing missing is a montage of them shopping.
Now uv started readin dis dunt stop. This is so scary. Send this to 5 ova videos in 143 minutes. When ur done press F6 and ur crushes name will appear on the screen in big letters. This is scary cause it actually works. If u break the chain u will have problems with relations p.s for the next five years x

They didn't show many episodes here in the US, but I thought the video spoofs were the best part of the series.

Yes and in series 3 they totally nailed the spoof pop song on "Getting Doggy With It."
Hilarious, and a good song in itself.
Drblooter99 2 years ago
I just love that song. It really fits those groups who look all alike and do all alike.
"Thats far too much to think about
So just dont even try
Make your head all empty
Avoid the question why
Thinking is for wankers
Were born, we dance, we die"
But: What do they sing at around 0:34? Last line of the first verse. Can't seem to get it...

Didn't they do a spoof of "C'est la vie" by B*Witched, or was that done on a different comedy show?

@ doctortrax: French and Saunders have an Abba parody that's called "C'est la vie".
