  • nice haircut

  • i have long creepy spider fingers and i still can't play the stretch from 3rd fret to 7th fret. i think john has enormous hands that have a lot of width which allows him to reach so easily. i just play the octave when i come to that stretch. hope that helps someone else

  • whats up guys?! so i covered this song on my channel so come check it out and subscribe if you like it! i love feedback so come grill m

  • I played a Clapton Signature Martin and they referred to it as a Parlour Size. I later bought a Maton EGB 808, made famous by Tommy Emmanuel. It is also a Parlour Size.

They are smaller bodied and shorter than the Dreadnought by maybe 4 inches. They are more comfortable to play especially if you have to play for an hour or more lol.

  • john mayer is my hero

  • lol... you got two negative kodos for that! They must be jealous, but they have to know the truth, even if it hurts.

  • seriously...how he stretches from 3rd fret to 7th is just crazy.

goes to show he's got really long fingers.

so much for trying to play this song the way he plays it =(

  • i know eh its crazy

  • it's trus his fingers are really long but his guitars are slightly smaller that average (like his signature martin)

  • WOAH what are you serious?!

b/c i went with the smaller option too and adopted a mini Jay Turser. so far they're the only ones (besides a Taylor but i'm not that rich) that makes mini guitars.

but the JT is pretty cheap. i'm having issues now with the action and sometimes the tone. but it's great to jam around with. my tone issues must be coming from the cheap strings haha.

but his sig martin was almost the same size as the sig Clapton martin? how small are we talking about here?

  • no kidding...i've got the whole song down except for that part and its crazy hard haha....try Neon

  • i get family friends n relatives saying i've got really long fingers that i should've picked up the piano...what a lie xD haha

jesus i'm just watching this again and it blows my mind. i can't friggin reach that far dammit!

i kinda gave up tho. i just went without having to play the bass note. it's not perfect but sounds as good =p

any guitar player who can sing/play neon without a stumble is a pro in my book haha

  • @1BrknHrtdRomeo I had the same issue. all you need to do is play the bass note on the 5fth fret of the D string when you have to make your move away from the g on the low E. it's sounds a little weird... but it is the same bass note, just played on a different string..

  • SERIOUSLY! But is doesnt matter that much if you just eliminate the E string on that part.

  • Ppl are always talking about being quiet during this song, but when ppl were yelling John looked out is this video and had a smile on his face at 0:35

  • it just looks like one of his guitar faces

  • this was a good show

  • you r my idol, i know almost all of your songs
