Nice job guys!!! I've been rescuing sea lions for over 14 years now, and have seen many just like this. You guys gave her a fighting chance. I'd be interested to know if anyone was able to take the line off her neck?

Thank you, Team Alchemy! I compete in an ocean sport as well (outrigger canoe racing) and most all the ocean-minded people I meet are like this- compassionate and caring about marine life and the habitat we play in. What a great representation of humanity- you guys rock!

As far as I'm concerned Alchemy crew takes FIRST PLACE! What was the outcome for the sealion? Was he able to be saved?

From the comfort of my study I claim that I would have at least tried to cut it off right there. Good on the crew for "doing the right thing"!!!

Well, this goes to show that somethings are more important than yacht racing. (I can't believe I just said that)... Anyway, my cap is off to the Alchemy crew and the all of the dedicated people who took over after you guys dropped her off at the dock! I hope the seal can be returned to the sea healthy happy and whole, and perhaps a few fisherman will catch this video and come to realize how important it is to use their nets with better care.

Unfortunately we ended up 4th in race.  But it was not the Sea Lions fault.
