I find this a lovely performance. The voicing of the left hand is wondrously clear and controlled; there is a sensuous beauty about the whole thing, yet it is clean and honest, not milked to impress; the bitter-sweet poignancy comes across perfectly, though there is no striving for effect. This player clearly loves music, and his love is infectious. What more can an artist do?
