When does H ever exist as an anion... It is not a good nucleophile, in fact H by itself isn't a nucleophile at all... HX would have been a better choice, but again, informative for beginners.
Yep true enuf ! Think its only found in stars and in the upper atmosphere ,never seen it used in a lab !note : best way to convert ketone to alcohol would be to reduce it using sodium borohydride ,followed by acidification - i reckon !

They are to reactive in solution all that happens is they(the H-) pull hydrogens off the nearest source -usually the solvent !
