  • @Kelly1008ZT But indeed it is the sound. The sound wave is first transmitted all the way through the outer ear and middle ear to the cochlea, then it stimulates the correlated part of the basilar membrane( in the cochlea), on which the hair cells base, to vibrate. This is how the hair cells are stimulated.
