Hey, your video has good content, but I am not sure I totally agree with it... I guess that is why everyone has a channel and opinion right? Either way I like the content and the presentation. I picked up a few ideas from this video so thank you for posting. May I ask, how you go about determining what to make video content about? Are you looking for trending topics or are you just making content around what you think people should be consuming online? I am trying to figure out my process...
Our right/freedom to spend our money vs Jail time. You are required to pay health insurance and Govt. salaries. You probably visit a doctor 2 times a year but your monthly check are required and appreciated. Don't mess with Uncle Obama!!!! College and high school students, we know you live from paycheck to paycheck, so get a second job. Pay our salaries and shut up!!
Marxism was the foundation for many political ideologies which followed, including Communism, Nazism, Stalinism and Maoism. Many political leaders of the 20th century, including Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler, were followers of the teachings of Marx and Engels. The teachings of Marxism would ultimately help to mold many important global events of the 20th century, including both World Wars.
You're a fucking idiot. Hitler was a fascist, he hated Stalin and communists. Business also loved Hitler.
And WW1 wasn't started by Marxists or communists or whatever, they didnt even exist in 1914! lol. Have fun on $30,000 a year while the rich take everything away from you. Please keep fighting those who are trying to bring YOU out of poverty and give YOU opportunities.
Communism is not a political ideology, it's an economical system. Nazi was a political party. Marxism may have influenced the economical system, but everything that you mentioned are Political Systems. in this case, Military Dictatorship.
okay, that's true but simply by giving a link to your response you are in a way advertising for your own channel. the kind of responses allowed on this page don't even come into it.
If only their can be a mass infusion of solar energy products, that it reduces their initial cost. I can imaging houses reducing their energy bills or having no energy bill at all. but then again that will scare the oil company. Falling oil prices will always moderate the growth of solar power or other renewable energy sources. Their will always be cars and therefore people buying gas. Oil companies will always garner profits even if price is high or low.
Man what does oil prices have to do with the government problem. You dumb or what. Innovation is needed. You guys invented the light bulb and mass produced the ford - Henry Ford... why can't you do something about energy innovation. oil prices go up due to oil companies and foreign countries setting prices. You notice that top 3 PROFITING countries in the states are oil companies. Those guys are fooling everyone. They spend millions on lobbying cause they want whatever favors them.
You can ease burdens on small business by allowing interstate trade with regards to insurance... but since that does not allow the government to get bigger, it would never pass....
ok, guess she did, i skimmed through it to try to find where she started answer questions, i could not find it so i had assumed she just talked through he allotted time frame... my bad
Ms. Romer said it wasn't a major cost contributer. A recent report on NPR said the tort/malpractice claims are less than 1% of the annual health care costs. This cost may still be a significant amount and there may be need for some reform in this area, but if there is any inequity, I favor in erring toward overcompensating the individual victims rather than appeasing the lobbiests and special interest groups. If a jury compensates a victim unfairly, the judge can still alter the award.
Wasn't listening as closely as I should be, but haven't heard if limiting damage and punitive damage awards in malpractice cases is part of healthcare reform. That liability - virtually unlimited - and the insurance doctors and hospital have to carry as a result, is certainly a contributing driver, if not a major driver, of healthcare costs.
Jesus would be pro torture. He would also own a gun and support the bombing of Iraq. Jesus spoke to Mrs California and told her that altering the breasts god gave her would be biblically correct, he said it would be the Christian thing to do especially if she put her boobs to use by posing topless.
Jesus also said that "Abstinence only" works best for everyone except the Palin family. He said theres not much good lookin poon in Alaska so the Palin women are allowed to give it up.
If u got to the hospital, they have to stabilize you but are not required to treat you. They can, and have been, throwing folks out on the street and release them too early.
Where? Give me a specific example of where a hospital only stabilized a patient and then kicked them out. If this did happen, which I doubt it did, the administration of the hospital should all be fired for their inability to properly calculate the risk of kicking someone out of the hospital because of their inability to pay.
Death of patient because of inappropriate discharge costing millions in legal fees and money awarded to the family vs. writing off a few thousand dollars.
Are you offering to pay? I also need three root canals. Food, Rent, Tuition. I work full time without but no insurance is provided as it is a small cafe and am a full time student with little outside support. Where do you propose I come up with the huge amounts of money needed to even see a doctor or dentist. I guess I don't deserve to see anybody, should I just die!!!!! Health for profit makes me sick literally and figurtively!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How do you propose that hospitals and doctors get pay their bills. Medical school isn't free, and after residency a physician has invested 11 years of their life in medicine without pay. Most of them didn't go into medicine to get rich, but they damn sure didnt go into medicine to become a poverty level employee of the government.
Train more doctors and pay them less, fire every person working in billing depts. and the business side of the "industry". No need for HMO employees. Both wealth and poverty are inherited in this country. Check out the US admin costs versus the rest of the first world. FYI, our government pays more pre capita then any of those other so called "single payer" or european style systems. Gov. as a middle man between you and your DR. vs. HMO's beholden to their for-profit boards.
Pay Dr's less?? The average salary for primary care providers was $135K nationwide. Now do a little math. 11 yrs of school, internship and residency at the ave income of $45K yr =495K Since Dr's are above ave add 20%=$594K + $200K for medical school = $794K + 11 years worth of interest . Your looking right at $1 million in the red before you see your 1 st patient.
Now $135K -malpractice ins of $15K =$120 K
And you want to lower their pay? Are you fuckin kidding, No one will go into medicine.
Excuse me for raining on your little numbers parade here but doesn't this suggest that part of the problem is the cost of education? Med school doesn't cost nearly this much in other advanced countries. There's obviously a problem with paying doctors less if they're so deep in debt after graduation, but this is just one example of the deeper underlying problem in the US which is that the profit motive has become the only motive.
The NE Journal of medicine had an article in it a while back with stats compiled by a MIT Physician survey. 75% of those surveyed said they were fed up enough with the system that they are considering pursuing other careers. 95% said they would not recommend Med school to their children. If the government takes over expect these already high numbers to go higher. For the first time ever Harvard has lowered their acceptance standards for med school. I guess thats how you propose we train more Drs
Who will bill the government? Or do you want government employees in the doctors office doing the billing? You do realize that government has no money, dont you? They can only take it from the people. For every dollar that the government pays out, it is estimated that the private sector and government have spent 5. This is how inefficient and inept government is. If you want your healthcare to be like the post office and have lotteries to determine who gets it, then yeah, you should love Obama.
Pay for doctor's to go to school. It is a privlege to spend 11 yrs. studying. A janitor is more necessary to society then a brain surgeon spending a decade+ in school, no? Yet the most necessary jobs are valued the least. The system is the problem, no? This you pointed out already. no wonder doctors are fed up. AMA sets the # of med. students based on not devaluing the average pay. We need more energy spent on train Dr. plenty get "weeded out" in pre med. Uk, Can., etc. Dr,'s make plenty, no?
I refuse to argue with someone that thinks a janitor is more necessary to society than a brain surgeons education. You can train a monkey to use a broom.
If you get your way,the average intellect of a surgeon will be that of a janitor.
The AMA doesnt decide the number of med students allowed, Universities do that on an individual basis. Decades ago more people passed the tests than slots available, today they have so few applicants, test scores for entry have been lowered, to get more Med Stud
I'm a janitor and a waiter to pay for school and I don't have any access to health care of any kind. No money left after food, rent tuition. Can a monkey bring you your food and clean up your up your shit. Lets see what happens after all the janitors stop working. I think most would be just fine without brain suregons. Check your research on the AMA and med school admissions. You must misunderstand my arguments why is one person's labor valued so much more then another's????
I highly value education. Just not the way medicine is taught and practiced in this country. Fuck for profit drug companies, HMO's, hospital's and all the parasites that feed off keeping some barred from the basic human right of health care. How many people are uninsured in this country??? Aren't we the richest country in the world??? This is a crime. I need root canals, will you pay?? I was born poor and am paying myself for my education.
jjrglobal: If you really think about it a Janitor is MORE important than a brain surgeon. mainly because a brain surgeon will save maybe 100 -200 people in his whole career, while a janitor who cleans up human waste etc is stoping another PLAGUE which has killed throughout history millions of people. To stop plagues from happening you need clean environments, streets, etc therefore you need cleaners, Janitors to keep the filth down. We have swine flue without cleaners it would be worse!
Ahhh the mind of a liberal Obamazombie. The difference is that any idiot can push a broom or pick up trash, you have to have a high IQ to be a brain surgeon, higher than 99% of the population. We'll let one of your fellow janitorial craftsmen do your brain surgery, or maybe your brain has already been operated on by a janitor, given your backward way of thinking.
I'm a janitor and got a 34 on the ACT. 99 percentile. I was pre-med for three years and could have gotten into med school but reject the for-profit industry. I'm a janitor to pay for school. I've seen you page jjrglobal- what happens to the suburbs of the west when oil speculators drive the price to 200, 300 400 dollars a barrel????????? Lend me some of your financial wisdom so I can avoid the collapse of the entire oil based economy. How much oil is left, do you think OPEC is honest.
jjrglobal- this debate has become too personal and ad hoc so I will refrain from future comments. Your thinking does, however, make me quite angry for too many are needlessly suffering simply because of an undervaluation of their lives and labor. Health care is a human right regardless. Even if lives in the US or the third world. Read Max Weber and his attacks on the absurdities of our social structure. That I will be happy to debate with you
I'll try not to make it personal, if you're going to school to become a doc, then you'll fully realize what I'm talking about when you get out of residency. Then you will understand the real problems in HC are created and exacerbated by government. Only the return of the free market and the proper use of insurance can cure the problem.
Why is that when people buy oil they're speculators, but when people buy corn or the Dow, or stocks, they're investors? All investors are speculators. Speculators in the oil market can drive the price up or down, no one bitched when it was $9 Bbl in 1997, and no one bitched when it was thirty a few months ago. The free market is based on offering something for sale and people pay what they believe its worth.
I have no financial wisdom, if I did I would have hedged at $140.
Peak oil will happen within the next 20yrs, as it gets closer prices will rise. Right now global demand is way down, but the way I see it either we will recover and the demand will pick up or we will fall into a depression the likes of which the world has not seen since the dark ages. The play right now I believe is in Nat gas @3.35M, it costs more than that to produce. From $14.00M to $3.35M on the fuel that can really cut our dependence on foreign oil and solve the energy crisis. BUY NG
I wonder how high your IQ is champ. I'll tell you what, I think you're absolutely correct. The market should be allowed to let rip! Obviously, if you have talent and drive you will prosper, allowing social Darwinism to do Gods' will and smite the weak. Therefore, give away all your money, get a disabillity or an illness and then show everyone that you're not talking complete crap by getting back to where you were in a year or two. All bald, brain- dead, GOP guru's (ha!) are rooting for you. LOL
Because of the IRS, We lost our home our business and we just exhausted what was left of our retiremnt, and I still know that free market capitalism is the only road to prosperity. I believe this even more so now, since it was gov, not the free market, that cost me and my family everything. Whats your IQ, Champ? I'm sure your a real hard worker, that has been thru tremendous suffering, and thats why you think your entitled to force others to take care of your lazy ass. LOL
Ah, now we're getting somewhere. Firstly, is that Stanford-Binet, Cattell etc.? Anyone with half a brain (and one tenth of a social life) would know that IQ can be a poor predictor of a persons true capability and value to either themselves, their families or society. Just being a member of Mensa doesn't mean someone's not an ignorant, self-absorbed prick. You would seem to be a case in point. Are you maybe blaming the IRS for your own uselessness/criminality? Social Darwinism hurts don't it :)
Well I have to assume some of the blame, but most of the blame should go to my CPA's. The first one just left town with my books, and I didn't hear from him for over a year. The second, never did anything but take 6K, without filing or filling out a a single document. The last one had power of attorney so we never received anything form the IRS. So it was a surpiise when one day all of our accounbts including A/Rwere seized.
It still would not have been so bad if the IRS hadn't been just as inept as my CPA's. After meeting with the agent and explaining what had happened, she told us our money would be returned. The problem was, she went on vacation the next day for 8 weeks and never filed the report. When I asked her about it, she said that she did file it, but the IRS doesn't have to folow her recommendations. Which is a lie. If that were true then why have field agents file recommendations at all?I guess Im a thug
That's a pretty measured response to a deliberatively provocative post. You seem to have confused the moral of your own story, which is that life can screw anyone over. Are you who you make yourself out to be? I'm surprised your response was so considered despite my ribbing of your abilities as a provider (which would have been more empathetic if you'd reciprocated the sentiment towards your fellow Americans). Surely you can now relate to being screwed over by circumstances not of your making?
Dude theres so much more to the story, I dont even bother to try and explain the last three years of my life. Trust me, if anyone can relate to being screwed over its me and my wife. In our case, it was government, first the state, then the the federal, that are the culprits. My wifes a physician and for 2 yrs she treated medicaid patients. We never got paid on a single claim and ended up writing off around 300K. We started her clinic with our life savings and five years later we're broke.
You're an enigma Jim. On the one hand - middle aged professional; good IQ; wife is a doctor; knows what it's like to fall on hard times; not easily baited into trash talk. On the other hand - hostile to social safety nets for the less fortunate; lack of empathy; currently spending a good deal of time on YouTube (lack of ability to prioritise?); seems to change stories on whose to blame (IRS, CPA's, Obama, God?) suggesting immaturity; still uses the word 'dude'. Will the real Jim please stand up.
My wife would get a considerable pay raise if we do end up with universal HC, but both of us know thats bot the answer. Look at the only part of medicine that has seen prices fall and quality rise in the last ten years, like lasik eye surgery. Your wrong about my empathy, I;m living through what most will never experience, at least I hope, but I know that we will pull through this time in our life, just as I believe this country can pull thru, but govt is making it harder every day.
I don't have any major problems with all that, except that it's so vague that it might just as well have been posted by an Obamafile as a neo-liberal or a conservative. I have no doubt you have a personal perspective that is valid, but it genuinely sounds like you need to have healthcare explained to you more than the other way 'round. Simply using Tennessee (a situation with which I'm not familiar) as an example of a public sytem that didn't work does not mean that the current one will not.
You say that you're "living through what most people will never experience". Now, I can't be sure, but that sounds like a very sheltered view about your place in the scheme of things if your past posts are anything to go by. I wish the best for your kids. Do you wish the best for other peoples kids, or is it everyman for themselves? You've avoided dealing with a number of my other questions too. I'll fire some more specific questions at you soon. Then we'll see if a 138IQ = logical argument.
The only reason I bother trying to explain HC to people is because once its taken over by gov it will take longer to undo it. You know the state of Tennessee already tried universal HC it was called TennCare. Look and see what a huge success it was. I just want my kids to have the same opportunities that I did, thats all. If I can change a few minds to make things better and easier on them, then great Its hard to just watch everything just go to shit and not at least try to open some eyes

We'll let one of your fellow janitorial craftsmen do your brain surgery, or maybe your brain has already been operated on by a janitor, given your backward way of thinking.
jjrglobal 2 years ago

That I will be happy to debate with you
iamivantoo 2 years ago
I'll try not to make it personal, if you're going to school to become a doc, then you'll fully realize what I'm talking about when you get out of residency. Then you will understand the real problems in HC are created and exacerbated by government. Only the return of the free market and the proper use of insurance can cure the problem.

High oil prices will drive innovation for other forms of energy, the free market will solve these problems if government will step aside
jjrglobal 2 years ago

LOL

IQ 138
Because of the IRS, We lost our home our business and we just exhausted what was left of our retiremnt, and I still know that free market capitalism is the only road to prosperity. I believe this even more so now, since it was gov, not the free market, that cost me and my family everything. Whats your IQ, Champ? I'm sure your a real hard worker, that has been thru tremendous suffering, and thats why you think your entitled to force others to take care of your lazy ass. LOL
jjrglobal 2 years ago
Ah, now we're getting somewhere. Firstly, is that Stanford-Binet, Cattell etc.? Anyone with half a brain (and one tenth of a social life) would know that IQ can be a poor predictor of a persons true capability and value to either themselves, their families or society. Just being a member of Mensa doesn't mean someone's not an ignorant, self-absorbed prick. You would seem to be a case in point. Are you maybe blaming the IRS for your own uselessness/criminality? Social Darwinism hurts don't it :)
wasdom01 2 years ago
Well I have to assume some of the blame, but most of the blame should go to my CPA's. The first one just left town with my books, and I didn't hear from him for over a year. The second, never did anything but take 6K, without filing or filling out a a single document. The last one had power of attorney so we never received anything form the IRS. So it was a surpiise when one day all of our accounbts including A/Rwere seized.
jjrglobal 2 years ago

Surely you can now relate to being screwed over by circumstances not of your making?
wasdom01 2 years ago

Your wrong about my empathy, I;m living through what most will never experience, at least I hope, but I know that we will pull through this time in our life, just as I believe this country can pull thru, but govt is making it harder every day.
jjrglobal 2 years ago
I don't have any major problems with all that, except that it's so vague that it might just as well have been posted by an Obamafile as a neo-liberal or a conservative. I have no doubt you have a personal perspective that is valid, but it genuinely sounds like you need to have healthcare explained to you more than the other way 'round. Simply using Tennessee (a situation with which I'm not familiar) as an example of a public sytem that didn't work does not mean that the current one will not.
wasdom01 2 years ago
You say that you're "living through what most people will never experience". Now, I can't be sure, but that sounds like a very sheltered view about your place in the scheme of things if your past posts are anything to go by. I wish the best for your kids. Do you wish the best for other peoples kids, or is it everyman for themselves? You've avoided dealing with a number of my other questions too. I'll fire some more specific questions at you soon. Then we'll see if a 138IQ = logical argument.
wasdom01 2 years ago
The only reason I bother trying to explain HC to people is because once its taken over by gov it will take longer to undo it. You know the state of Tennessee already tried universal HC it was called TennCare. Look and see what a huge success it was. I just want my kids to have the same opportunities that I did, thats all. If I can change a few minds to make things better and easier on them, then great Its hard to just watch everything just go to shit and not at least try to open some eyes

Also, isn't our money fiat. Didn't we just triple the money supply to "bail-out" the banking industry? It's just digits on a screen, No?
