Why are some black people afraid of doing shit just cause of their color? For example, skating. Why did Terry need to look up to a black skater? I mean why not just look up to any good skater regardless of his color and just do it cause you think it's cool for you?
If anyone bothers to answer this, don't waste your time on some racist reply or accusation.
@tempster you're right the color isn't important black men are people like anyone white without that fuckin' racists they don't understand it poor men!
@tempster , im a 32 yr old white skater i can't speak for ppl's exp today or then, but blk skaters were even more of a minority back in the early 90's, and i think a lot of blk skaters will relate similar stories of gettin shit-talked for skating, it bein seen as a white thng, etc. ive seen my friends harrassed for it and how pissed it made them. and TK may have been just sayin it was just not typical to see any blk guys skatin in the environment he grew up in.
@tempster but anyway the answer in my opinion is if you are goin thru certain shit it's easier and more motivating to look up to someone you can relate to, usually, someone who you can look at and say "well hes probably gone thru the same shit im goin thru right now", or "even though everyones givin me shit for doin this, this guy did it and came out ok" short answer is cuz of environment he came up in and
it's kinda funny to me, im black from down south n used to skate hardcore, i quit n started b boyin like 8 years back n i still may rock a "lil zoo york" n osiris(one pair) i don't go all overboard wit rockin skate shit even though a nigga used to go hard. it trips me out to see people rock d.c. all day n some of these cats don't even know d.c. is a skate shoe. hell yeah, stevie and kareem are beasts!
and i remember when tk was BEEFIN with lupe for kick, push. i didnt really get that cuz its not like lupe said anything about anyone, he was just telling a story, but terry was offended. lupes muh boi.
If I remembered correctly, the BEEFIN started because of Pharrel. Lupe is cool with Stevie Williams. Stevie got mad cause Pharrel use to call himself "skateboard p", but wasn't a die hard skater. So since the same applied with Lupe doing"kick, push", TK, and the Ice Creamers went after Lupe's neck, calling themselves defending their homie, Pharrel.Thats what started all the beef. It was really a huge misunderstanding on everyones' part.
No, He did not call him JK. He said I'm going to holla at JK and bring you that exclusive. We were @ JK's (rap artist) video shoot. Rewind it for yourself.
