  • holy shit!

  • I love when the strings break on the banjo and guitar at the end!!! just shows there having a great time!

  • Scott's voice is so gone in this concert, a sign of a hard day's work!

  • @Blackcat333ful - I know what you're saying but I think the fact that he mixes in his own unique twists is what makes a live performance so great. If it sounded exactly like the CD it wouldn't be as inspiring. Not to mention, he's playing a flippin banjo, kick drum and singing at the same time! Not many could do the same!

  • Great

  • @TheEricaLeshea it's funny you say that. I had seen this song live so many times before I and Love and You came out, that I never got into the album version. In fact, I skip it when I listen, though I love it live. I'm curious, did you hear the song for the first time on the album or live? But, to each their own, right? :)

  • @TheEricaLeshea the live version is how the song was conceived. When they went into the studio they said it was too difficult to recreate so the decided to record it with a different approach. ALSO important to note that they were both very sick here. I happen to love both versions, but live Laundry Room is my favorite every time!! (Check out the tiny desk version)

  • @TheEricaLeshea oops...also the Norfolk version (!!!!) These videos pre-date the I and Love and You album

  • @TheEricaLeshea - the problem is, he gives everything he has all the time, I don't think he knows how to hold back vocally. His voice is often shot by the latter parts of shows. Check out the tiny desk concert from NPR on youtube if you want to hear a great version of this song.

  • @mdr1013 I can respect that. I love The Avett Bros.

  • Simply incredible. Damn, they impress me the more and more i listen

  • did he fall back on purpose or did his insane jamming cause him to trip up? haha

  • ufy

  • I just discovered this video today...and this is now my fourth time watching it. Absolutely love it!

  • It crazy... I and Love and You didn't come out till Sept. 2009. so this was really rough but it seems so perfect.

  • Please post more! This is unbelievable!

  • Sooo, a dvd of this entire show would make a great christmas gift. ;)

  • seths jammin so hard he almost fell at the end. Every performance, all they have...the only way they know how. I <3 TAB

  • @hamiltonhochs

He was jamming so hard that he broke all the strings on that guitar

  • i could watch this forever - i just literally pumped my fist in the air @ how fricking good this was - GODDAMN i am so thankful for this band.

  • Holy. Wow. why am I only just seeing this now???

    Really beautiful version.

We definitely need to see more from this show--thanks for posting!

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post more from this show! It was only open to UNC students, so many awesome fans didn't get to see it. I was lucky enough to be a student and a fan though :-)

  • it looks like seth broke two strings at the end

  • I've heard he broken as many as 15 banjo strings in one show.

  • @spatchjr when i talked to them in 2007 they said they both broke 16 strings each in the same show. pretty nuts

  • @spatchjr in an interview video with scott he said he broke 32

  • WOW ... Just wow ... that was awesome.

  • i wish they would have played like this on Letterman!

  • holy mary mother of god.....

  • Yeah, it's sooo good, flawed and human and vulnerable.

Love the "what's he know?" after :53 from Scott.

  • The last minute of this..wow...

  • Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!! This joins the ranks of "best TAB videos on youtube." Can't wait to see more from this night.

  • I agree, this is one of the best Avett Brothers videos out there

  • The Avett Brothers - SO glad you've posted this for long-time fans, -those of us who have never seen their live show, - and for those who may be seeing them for the first time.

Cirque Productions does such a stellar job! Thanks for including a split screen in part of this. -Very much the way I like to look at a live show, turning my head back and forth, not wanting to miss anything. -Going to check for more of your videos now.

  • awesome production, joe is such a good fit for these guys. Love it and love them !

  • fantastic footage!

  • Niccce.
