I love OLP, got "Happiness" in 2000 after hearing "One Man Army" on the radio...that record knocked me out. But to be honest, I have heard a lot of people sing..and was a voice scholarship student myself...well...Raine just does not sound like he was meant to be a singer, to me. I detected strain in nearly every interval...not dissing him, just ...he was a guy with an expressive voice that really struggled for range..
His voice sounds good here. Other live songs that ive heard are god awful. People love them so much that they won't admit Raine sounds like shit. He got to the point where he said 4AM instead of singing it. I love OLP but at least I know when somebody can't stay in key.
The Bell Centre is the indoor hockey arena. This is an outdoor stadium where the Montreal football team plays, located on the McGill University grounds.
I hope they tour the States this upcoming year with the album they got coming out..I need to see these guys live. Plus I heard with their new album they're going back to the old style, Raine was fed up and fired Bob Rock so Raine is producing the album.
