i think he meant the right hand from our point of view. like his left but our right. but yeah your right, frusciante pretty much picks over every string with his right hand and frets the notes he wants to play while muting the rest.

Whats that technique he is doing on the chorus where he only plays certain strings? i am learning guitar on an acoustic and that blows my mind how he does that. It doesnt look like his fingers are muting any other string. Is he just so good he can aim for that one string while strumming?

I try to do what I can by ear, by using videos of people playing (can figure out what fret they're playing around) and find some tabs online. Work the song out the best you can. I'm not good enough to do it all by ear but I try my best so hopefully one day I can grab any sound I want on the fretboard quickly.

hold the 4th fret on the b string (if your guitar is tuned properly) and tune down the e string to match the Eb your playing on the 4th fret.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't use tabs. You don't play as well as he does and have to rely on tabs. I can play all of BSSM, and I don't use tabs either.

I'm pretty certain. After a few years of playing, you know what chords sound like, and if you dont, you know what individual tones sound like and can easily deduce what chord is being played.
