''there seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships'' = god dam it there's a fucking problem with these pieces of shit!!! the germans have always ben some of the best engineers and designers in the world. quality over quantity is their thing, they just didn't have the resources to fight the wars.respect, even if my family fought them.
I can not beliefe how foolish the british tactics were - there must have been a mole of a traitor in the general command staff! We germans had no experience in naval warfare at all and it can not be the `superiority´ of our hardware or the better training for the marksmanship! I am lucky, we havent won that foolish war at all - germans are lousy winners...
Very good video. @4:45 there's a rare view of HMS Agincourt, @5:32 an Iron Duke class battleship, @ 5:40 the German battlecruiser Seydlitz and at 7:10.
Wonderful footage, despite the 'pro-Jellicoe' commentary. Beatty did well in a very difficult situation, and it was not his fault that the Admiralty hadn't learned its lesson regarding the loading techniques of the 'big guns'.
My grandad was there, on the Brtish side. He was 16 years old, having kied about his age to join the Navy, at the age of 14.
However, her was in the brig of his ship for the entirity of the battle! I'm not sure what he'd done to end up there, but my dad implied it was something to do with booze and fighting...
@FRAGIORGIO1 Thank you for your comment. The second part was actually posted by two other users--chefsanders70 and sammarlow77593. They both posted it under the title World War 1-Battle of Jutland Part 2 of 2.

its true that aircraft rule the world, BUT dreadnoughts are the stuff of legends and are the real Titans of the sea.

@marsvltor2 Yes, but it was Beatty's fault at Jutland that he went haring off after
the german battlecruisers without signaling the 5th battle squadron with its 15th inch
guns to support him. Also the British ships had been built with speed and longer range
guns versus the German heavier construction. Beatty was also in range of the Germans for
long minutes before they could strike him. And he did not give the order to fire.
