I am GM fan and own a 2001 WS6 and always wanted a C5 instead, but couldnt afford it. I ran 13.1 with just a LID and thats when I researched! I spent a lot of $ on my 79 Z28 to run 13.60s@100mph. I knew my car would run 13.4-13.7 but didnt expect 13.1...my buddys 98 Z28 had headers,4:10s,tune and ran 13.2(13.9 stock). My other buddys 00 SS stock- 13.8, and my aunts 00 C5 vette stock-13.6. Point is C5 vette runs same 1/4 as 98-00 F body. Try to find C5,01-02 F body records u see F bodys faster

theyre basically the same engine yes...but the vette has a few other little things that give it about 15 more hp. Camaros were 305 hp and the C5s were like 320
we specifically searched for an ls6 powered f-body. one way to tell if its an ls6 is the vin code will have a g(ls6) instead of a w(ls1). also the head casting numbers are 243(ls6).
this car has 243 casting number on the heads. 243 is the ls6 head casting number. so either this car had got them from the factory or the previous owner added them.
ya they do but. the vette has a better susp. its expected to be the faster of the 2. solid rear end Vs independent rear end. its an all around better car..

Really? What's the weather like on your planet? The only "fast" mustang, and only one worth having, is the 03/04 Cobra. And stock they're still turds because the car weighs too much.
Now that being said. I HATE the 2010 Camaro, It's a fat turd too. But the 4th Gen F-body was a great car, and a lot easier to launch than a C5 Vette. I know because I've got both. C5's tend to wheel hop if you don't know what you're doing. F-body you just point and shoot :)

@hallis1 Slow? 4.4 seconds to 60 BONE STOCK is slow? And the 2011 mustang GT hits 60 in almost 4 seconds flat. And you probably don't have either of those great LS1's, you probably have a beat up piece of shit honda. My mustang will hit 60 in 5.3 seconds, when I get my goodies for christmas It'll be right under 5 seconds. But I guess that's slow too huh? It helps to know shit about the crap you trash talk.

the camaro looks automatic too me, but the corvette looks like its manual how it moves everytime it changes gears, of course, manual cars are better then automatic in muscle cars, if u dont know how to drive a manual, THEN LEARN!!!!!

all right first of all stock for stock vette every time. its lighter, geared better, puts out more power, and does a better job putting it to the ground. and if you have half a brain cell you would know that vette is a zo6. and the vette is not the camaros brother in any way. the vette is a sports car not a muscle car completely diff. and whoever said the camaro puts more hp to the wheels is just ignorant. stock ls1 z28 300hp at the wheels, stock c5 zo6 340hp and up. nad yeah i own a 2000 ss.

not trying to prove you wrong but i own an 02 ss and you know as well as i do that the camaros were way under rated in hp. Yes the corvette is the big brother.. Same f-body same engine. You cant compare a z06 to a camaro because the engines arent the same. The z06 is a larger liter of engine. Put a c3 vett vs a 02 camaro(same exact engines.. ls1 with ls6 intakes) and see who wins. Camaro everytime mainly because of the upgrades gm did to the camaro in 2002 due to its last year of production)

Oh, i knew that the camaros and trans ams used corvette engines but i didnt know they used the same sized ones but then again new info. is always a plus for me
but of course the corvette should win bc i know if i just spent a shit load of money on a new vette and got my ass handed to by a camaro, i sure as hell would be pissed that a less expensive, and in my opinion, more appealing car just whooped my ass and i would then proceed to think why the hell didnt i buy a camaro instead.

and both have thesame size LS1 engines, the bolt ons on the vette are slightly better.. , but at the same time the vette loses more HP due to its IRS... they should be equal in a drag race..

Did the camaro have drag radials? Due to the rear mounted transmission, the vette should eat the camaro off the line.

both are stock. The camaro is a 2000 z28, my friend moran its the owner, It has only 18,000 miles on it.
The corvette its also from other friend but it was crashed about 2 months ago, in a freeway.
