I think that Kung Fu is certainly the most artisitc of the martial arts. If I were to choose any to watch, Kung Fu is it. I'm a police officer, and my experience has led me to believe that American TKD combined with BJJ is the best for street fighting. Not saying that one is better than the other, but each has it's own unique strengths. Feedback?

The martial aspects of Kung Fu are as strong as any other form. However, the strength stems from application combined with Tai Chi techniques. Tai Chi can be difficult and time consuming to master. Thus, many are unwilling to devote years to the study of both. That's why TKD and BJJ are often touted superior.
Shaolin is so powerfull because of the training not the style,
i practice kungfu and there are so many styles,, it depends on the fighter if u win or lose a match,, i don't think a Shaolin kid that trained Shaolin for 1 year could beat a 20 year old karate master with 13 years experience...

no there is no point of even if you say so cos they JUST WANT TO make shaolin look fake and even if they went there(which they'll never go since the training is very hard) and suppose even if they went there they are still gonna say it's fake
@sonikue23 Yes, you can go there and pay a fee to train in a Shaolin Wushu school near the temple, but if you want to train in the temple with the real monks you need to become a monk or have some kind of special permission, very few non-monks are allowed to train inside the temple.

@sonikue23 According to shaolin-wushu.de it says: 1 - 5 months 440 US$ / month, 6 - 11 months 420 US$ / month, 12 - 23 months 410 US$ / month, More than 24 months 400 US$ / month, I don't think there are any limits to how long you can stay except for the money and you must have permission to stay in China like in any other country. You can check out the site yourself and other sites too of course, I just picked shaolin-wushu.de because I had already checked it out before.
@meNtor890 I will go there next year 2012, I train under 32nd generation warrior monk Shi Xing Xue and two of his disciples here in Sweden, several of my friends that I train with have been there and trained there more than once, so I've got a good idea of what it's like and I look forward to go there next year.

Ur right, they are something speaciel, its very rare to see a SHAOLIN in action..... They train so hard, this tecnic was made to protect the tempels.... Only the shalin munks know how to use it....
because that's how they do the show/tour in every cities that they visited. the commentary always go along w/ the show. i know because i went to one of this show.
it was exactly the same as all these videos. the qi gong, animal stances, 18 weapons & everything else. even the music is the same. i watched it like in 2000.
