I really enjoyed this video. It really makes you realize that sometimes we are so quick to judge children with a disability, and they can do pretty much anything a normal child can do.
WOW! That video really makes me think. That's for sure. I never really thought so much about something like this ever. It made me cry for sure. Don't think ill ever see things the way I did before ever again. They were two gifts from God no matter what you say. Didn't even pay attention to the song or the words of the song. Everybody should see this video. WOW!!
I enjoyed the video. I believe it had a good message. we can't jodge a book by its cover. Those that we think need help are the ones who do not need nor want sympathy and those who truly need it.. has no signs that need help, but desperatly want it.
that was really intense. definitely made me cry. the whole video i was getting angry cuz i have a brother with down syndrome who swims, goes to school, plays the drums, acts in plays, plays basketball/baseball, is fluent in sign language and so on.. but then i saw who jimmy was. and it hit me like a ton of bricks. and then about his friend, although im confused as to why its specifically about brazillian homeless children it still resonates with me in a way that makes me feel very humbled.
I thought the video had a wonderful message- as the Mother of a little baby boy with Down syndrome, I very much appreciate the message! I did want to point out, however, that it is not called Down's syndrome. There is no "s" or "apostrophe s" in Down syndrome. It is a common misunderstanding, but since the video has such a beautiful sentiment, I thought it might be useful information...
What do the lyrics of the song have to do with the subject matter? Nothing.
It wears her out, it wears her out / She lives with a broken man / A cracked polystyrene man / Who just crumbles and burns / She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing / My fake plastic love / But I can't help the feeling / I could blow through the ceiling / If I just turn and run / And it wears me out, it wears me out / It wears me out, it wears me out
@mateusmg8 It´s related to Brazilian Children because of the translation of the movie script. It was made by brasilians and was participating in the Sprout Touring Film Festival. But in fact I agree with... no only our Brazilians need help but many others around the world.
It's not just Downs, it's anyone who is different. I'm deaf/hard of hearing, remember as a kid being called "retarded" by other kids, relatives who didn't understand about deafness, and my folks didn't understand too much so I think my siblings had "issues". I found out from siser's ex boyfriend that she never would tell him that I was deaf until years later when we were about to meet. He was shocked. I could see an attempt at captioning on this vid but not clear so I don't know the words.
if you click the HQ (high quality) button located at the bottom right of the screen - you will then be able to read the captions. The captions add a lot to the video.
@KSMSDRPEPPER I am deaf too... uh yeah i hate it when videos dont have captions, it sickens me to the stomach that i dont understnd whaat the f it says..
i dont know why people are ashamed of having kids like them. i have a brother with downsyndrom and we arnt ashamed of that. we take him out everywhere we go. and treat him as a normal person. maybe people who are ashamed of having kids like these are the retaded ones.
the depressing part is the radiohead song. the happy faces on the merry-go-round could have been set to the archies or the ramones, and it would have been a happy video.
you know why is depressing? depressing is knowing that in 21th century the mentality of people is still this way... i think that people shouldnt be ashamed of having something uncomun, but their only ashamed because the society builds this prototype of comun people! i think most of us are the ones with mental retardation!

@Spartansgirl18 I suggest you watch it at 480p - that will improve the quality.
