  • schizoknight12 you're totally wrong... what you're referring to is a parasitic plant such as love vines and bird vines... They have modified roots called haustorium to penetrate a host plant so that it can absorb nutrition from the vascular bundle.. Epiphytes such as bromeliads and orchids do not penetrate hosts and do not have a modified root, they just use a host plant for support
