It will make a difference if you have a weak tail servo. Otherwise, I prefer not using it. I found my tail to be inconsistent. That's when the rate of turn suddenly goes faster after a certain point. You can tune this out, but to be honest, I have nothing to complain about with my oem tail setup.
It seems there are changes from the original V1. It has woodies, philips head screws among other things. I also hear occasional complaints about defective parts. So I suspect there are quality issues in some kits.
However fixing these problems still comes out cheaper than buying a TRex SE V2.
Looks good gino, you seriously got your backwards circles sussed! Nice yoyo at the end :P tail looks really locked, Be really interesting for someone to try this mod with a JR770 and a big servo like a 9650, I would but I dont think I would be able to fly it!
I don't see any reason why this mod won't work with any tail setup on the 450. It definitely will put less stress on the tail servo. What I have not tested is the integrity of the tail spinning on higher speeds of high kv motors.
Im sure it would work kick ass, But with mine toned down massively as it is, and its still at least as quick as yours, with the mod, I would have serious trouble doing anything but 3D (and Id crash :D ). Flatmate has just brought an HD video camera so ill try get a demo video of my tail to show you it at aprox 60% of how insane it is with full EPA's and rates.
Wow, that does seem to make the tail quick! I'm still envious of your backwards circuits. LOL And we want to see some pictures of your "hat cam" setup.
It's putting weights on tail balde grip 90 deg from the arm. This reduces tendency of blade to return to neutral during high rpm. This makes it easier for the servo. So if your servo is weak, it feels stronger.
good job gino ..i like the same fying style as you do (low and close ) although i can do backwards yet..just ffs

Gino, do you plan to get a trex 450SE V2?
i'm planning to get a copter X V2 but i want to hear what your saying.
by the way, is the chinese weight method really good that you will keep doing it in the future?

Strange. I thought you could dial that down mechanically. Can't throw much if linkage geometry is compromised.

And I am envious of your high altitude flyouts and aerobatics. I guess we just just chose to learn different parts of the skills spectrum.
