This guy is dead right. The bankers want to enslave you with debt, "credit", etc. Don't fall for it. I've never used debt or credit, always cash. Guess what I have a lot of? You guess money. Sure. But much more importantly, I have a lot of TIME. I have my time. The bankers don't. You can borrow money, you can't borrow time. Nothing you can buy is worth your time.

@MrBagginsEsq The federal reserve system is based on debt. A banker creates currency (a few numbers in a computer), loans it and asks rent for it. When the loan is paid the money disappears. That means that without debt there would be no dollars. When someone supports the federal reserve system, he supports debt and rent. Rent is the cost of debt, it is a way of making money with loaning and not with labor. Christianity has fought rent since forever! (as does islam by the way)

I am an atheist and I love Dave Ramsey. Love. His financial advice is completely sound and brilliant. When he does the whole God thing, I take from it what I can and move on. I'm not offended at all. It's not like he shoves it down your throat; he is completely reasonable.

Dislike. Respect Dave a lot, follower of his plan, but I wasted four minutes watching this thinking it was financial advice. It's simply a sermon. No offense to Dave or any fans, but this should be clearly labeled as a sermon.

I don't care what anyone says, I think he's brilliant. Bought one of his books just the other day and have been reading it like crazy. You may think he's stupid or after everyone's money, but that just shows how little you have put into understanding what he's saying. I am learning quite a bit from him, and I am so glad to have stumbled upon one of his books. He's totally got a new fan right here. :)

I don't own anything? I own free will. God didn't lend me my talents, he gave them to me. Even if I go to hell, the talents will come with me. They may not be used, but they are still mine. Unless God completely erases me from existance, my talents are my own. God loves us and gave us out talents for us to use, and he gave us free will to do as we please with it. Now if we decide to do good or evil with our free will is out of his control. Notice how we all say God GAVE us life, not lent us life

I love how persons here are complaining that Dave is only after peoples money. That is simply stupid. You can follow his plan absolutely free if you want, his radio show is dere to listen to and to download on his website, he lays out the proven to work baby steps for free, and he regularly sends people to his Financial Peace University for free. You can buy his books or pay to enroll FPU if you want to, it's not required. Haters will continue to hate I suppose. Not me though, God bless u Dave!

I love your radio show Dave, you're cool , finally a talk radio show that matters!.... Dave, I have a problem, I've got a girlfriend who does't work and if I mention "budgeting" or never using credit to purchase things, or the word "no" , I'm likely gonna end up alone again. I make $17K/yr, I'm conservative with my money, I try to do everything right, living within my means, eating rice and beans, *sobs* what did I do to deserve this?

Dave is a master at what he does, & I have learned priceless financial principles from him. Like Dave, I am also a christian, so I can appreciate that perspective. If his faith offends you or turns you off in any way, then I agree with msu2014 - get your money advice elsewhere. Dave is qualified to teach this stuff; if he was muslim or mormon, or Hindu, etc... I would NOT care because his FINANCIAL principles are SOUND. Eat the meat & spit out the "bones" people. Learn what you CAN !

He talks about God and the Bible because to us "Christians", we find that God and the Bible have lots of important information about finance. Again, Dave is a "Christian". When I'm driving home, many times I flip on the radio and Ramsey is on, I listen to him instead of my 30 gigs of songs. I have no money and haven't gotten a job no matter how hard I try. All the same, it's anything BUT boring :)

I have learned so much from this man. We are almost debt free thanks to his books, tv show and now on XM everyday. I like his biblical beliefs with his teachings as well. If you will follow his baby step plan they will work. He can only tell you what to do. It's up to you to do it. It works!!!

DAve Ramsey is the BEST! We've been following his plan and we have paid off our debts, have an emergency fund, contribute to our IRA's and now have money to give. His plan works, there is NO doubt!

Dave's presentations are mainly about spending discipline and softer messages like "buy everything in cash with money you save." Wow...really innovative. I would like to see a good financial analyst obliterate him with facts on all the money you lose due to paying cash (opportunity cost by not earning interest). Folksy charming "church chat" finance doesn't help many people....certainly sells a lot of books though.
