This happens alot to me. One time, I was playing Shadow (with Rouge behind me) and was in the forest. (This was in the begining) I went across the rings using a light dash. I looked behind me and heard a scream frome Rouge. I waited for her to respawn. She did, but then she fell on the ground...forever. If you walk away, they come back.
