It was pre CBS. recorded in a garage. You can here some his likes on the Munsters and Beverly Hill Billy's back ground if you listen.. AWSOME !!!! The GOD of modern sound !!!
At the risk of sounding like a dick, I think anyone who's going to attempt to argue a point should have at least a BASIC understanding of the fucking English language. Jesus christ.
was the first guitar "effect"? It seems like before this electric guitar from people like charlie christian was only clean where this alters the sound.
What's amazing about this particular song is that Les didn't use tape for this recording. He would cut a track onto a wax (or maybe lacquer) disc on his homemade disc lathe, then play it back and mix it with his second track onto another disc, and so on.
He's one of the greatest guitarists the world has ever seen, and it's easy to see why his name graces one the world's greatest guitars!
It makes me sick that we still hear about Michael Jackson, yet never a word about Les, even when he died. The only thing I've seen in tribute to Les Paul on TV was Jeff Beck doing his songs on public access. It really shows where the minds of today's generation reside. Michael Jackson wouldn't have been around if not for this man with his electric guitar and multi-track recording device.
@likearollingstone257 Hey, you made me sick too. If this is what you said that MJ should never being talked because of Les' great invention, then who is Robert Johnson, the great blue player in the history? He was never been spoken too! How could you ever said that? Same as Les and all others wouldn't have been creating electric guitar and shit if Robert Johnson didn't played guitar. Nothing should be blamed with who or what have been here, MJ is a very talented guy and you should give respect.
@likearollingstone257 I figure the reason is because Les Paul was a musician through and through. Making music was the end all be all, not that it makes him any less important, in factI consider that a very admirable trait and is the sign of a true musician. MJ, not to discredit his work, did commercials movies and was in his later years subject to much public scrutiny. Captain beefheart died recently, barely made the news...

the second portion of this song reminds me of the Jetsons. Not because it was ever in the Jetsons, it just reminds me of the Jetsons.
