Not all Vietnam vets had problems with the VA? Please be more specific and respond to me with a % of those that did and those that didn't. Your statement is too general. Look on youtube about VA backlog and some of the sad stories of vets. It is good that you like military life and thank you for your service.
This was all after Vietnam though, hopefully they have improved. I don't want to sound ungrateful. Just being honest. Some people have had great experiences with them. If I were you I'd get a bi-yearly physical with a civilian doctor. Your health is your future and they just shuttle you thru like so much cattle. But to be fair they do have to care for a lot of people. Be proactive about your health don't depend on a doctor to know your body better than you.
I have a phobia of Army doctors. Too many bad experiences with them. They nearly killed my sister twice. And my aunt's son has cerebal palsey from a crappy Army doctor in Germany.
@PfcWatkins09 yah but what they dont tell u is, there are times that you dont get to see your family for weeks at a time,they get to go home at 1700 but they dont tell you that,thats the earlies plus u start the day at 0630 everyday. from my experience,the only benefit that is really worth it is the health care for your family,but for soldier themselves(ibuprofen is the cure for everything) ,and GI-bill after you serve.And the best benefit u can get is best experience for life that only few w-
